so Phlox continually checked bars

 

and latches to make sure

 

no critter could jump ship.

 

Cage technology had advanced to

 

where he could have remotely

 

cared for his precious cargo

 

and left them in storage,

 

but that wouldn't be fun

 

and he couldn't see them.
