http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/05...-blade-reboot?abthid=5189f0e85d906d413000003a Interesting look at what we might be getting in the future from Marvel. It would be interesting if Marvel manages to get a Ms Marvel movie out before Wonder Woman. I hope they go with the original costume for Carol if it happens. Also Blade reboot? It was only going to be a matter of time. Also good news that Luke Cage and Iron First rights have reverted back to Marvel.
So, given Luke's catch phrase (WHAT'SMYNAMEJUNKIE!!? No, "Sweet Christmas"!) this has got to be a Christmas movie however, Iron Fist is going to lose a toe if he's wearing those dinky slippers in New York half way through December. Ms. Marvel or Captain Marvel? Does anyone say "Ms." anymore?
I'm not a fan of the new Captain Marvel name for Carol. I think Marvel will be worried that it will confuse audiences since there is already a Captain America. Both Cap and Carol wear red and blue costume with star on chest...
I dunno...Thor got used pretty often. If they do make a Carol Dancers film I hope they go with "Captain." I still mainly associate Captain Marvel with the Big Red Cheese but that's highly unlikely for a movie... And Carol's earned it.
I am. I think that it's not only appropriate, but long-overdue. And as Guy said, nobody uses "ms." anymore.
Anyone find it sad that we might be getting a Ms Marvel movie before a live action Wonder Woman movie is released?
Wonder Woman is always going to almost have another new movie... Captain/Ms. Marvel has probably got one or two chances before Marvel files for bankruptcy and the licenses become far too complicated.
They'll use "Captain Marvel", because of the Hollywood perception that female superheroes don't sell.
I'd prefer them to use Ms. Marvel, although even if DC did go ahead with a Captain Marvel movie they would probably call it Shazam. I'm not too fussed about a Blade reboot, but the news of Ms. Marvel and Luke Cage is exciting.
Jarvis raised a point last week that Major Danvers is demoting herself by assuming the rank of Captain Marvel. Major Marvel?
I have no real interest in seeing either character on the big screen. Definitely vampired out at this point and unless they set Ms. Marvel in space fighting with the Kree or something her Earthly adventures would bring no excitement to my life.
As far as I'm concerned, we don't need one more military character. The MMU has quite enough of them.
Since they changed Rhodey to Air Force in the MCU, I think it would be fun if Rhodey made a cameo in the Ms Marvel movie as an old friend of hers. Maybe War Machine can help her a little at the end of her movie?
Yeah, no. I have absolutely no interest in the U.S. military, that's not something I find fun, exciting or appealing at all.
Hmm, of the various Avengers only Steve Rogers was actually military. Otherwise you've got Rhodes from the Iron Man films, since SHIELD is some sort of super- spy government agency. I'm not sure how two headliners and one secondary character out will be so many especially once you bring in the Guardians and Ant-Man into the mix?
I like ms. Marvel, and if she gets a movie, I hope she's Ms. Marvel in it. She shouldn't get the name of my favorite superhero (the real, original, Captain Marvel) just because Marvel pulled some jerk moves with copyrights before DC got the rights to the true Captain Marvel. I actually like most of the Marvel comics characters that have the name (my favorite being Peter David's Captain Marvel run) but its always ticked me off that Marvel screwed over my favorite superhero. Regardless, I prefer carol as Ms. Marvel, in her costume she was wearing for years before becoming "Captian Marvel". A Heroes for Hire movie would be awesome if done right. Put Luke and danny in there, maybe Misty Knight and Jessica Jones as supporting characters, and have them fight someone cool (not some of the lamer villains they've fought, like Nightshade). Maybe Purple Man could fit if they have Jessica as a character, although that may be too uncomfortable for a superhero movie.
