    Agreed on all counts.

To each their own, of course, but IMO Donna absolutely rocked.

I spent the first half of The Runaway Bride hating Donna, and the second half loving her to the point where, at the end the doctor invites her along I kinda wanted her to go. When she was cast as a companion proper for S4 I had a momentary wobble, then realised that she was pretty much the modern incarnation of one of my favourite companions in that, in effect, she was Tegan, from that moment on I had no doubts. Having said that I didn't realise just how good she was going to be, or how much I'd end up loving Donna Noble.

Best new series companion by far, with first season Rose in second place (seriously the Piper/Tennant giggly act got real old, real fast) Then Martha and second season Rose about level. Freema, gorgeous girl and always seems very nice, but crikey you'd think she came from the forests of Cheem!

I, too, initially disliked Donna because of "The Runaway Bride" and I was not happy when she was announced to be the series 4 companion. However, when Starkers pointed out the similarities to Tegan (who is also a favorite companion), I decided to keep an open mind. After the end of "The Fires of Pompeii" (where Donna really channeled Tegan from the beginning of Time-Flight), I fell in love with Donna and quickly became my favorite new Doctor Who companion (passing Jack and Mickey). She's still not quite my all time favorite companion, but she's still quite good.

Donna was brilliant, easily the best companion of the relaunch.

Incidently, I watched Turn Left last night and I'd totally forgotten about the maid pointing at Donna like the evil monkey from Family Guy.

She's probably in my top 5 of companions.

Not for me. No way beating Romana, Leela, Ace, The Brig, and Jamie.

    Romana II?;)

    Hmm...well maybe top 5 was hasty...top 10, maybe even top 7?

Tegan, Jamie, Zoe, Sarah-Jane, Leela, Romana II...

    Yeah Donna, definitely top 7!

Is it McCoy who says a fan came up to him once and said something along the lines of "You're my fifth favourite Doctor" or something?

Both. I honestly can't decide which Romana I prefer, so I just lump them together. Yeah, I know it's cheating. :p

For me, it would probably be Romana, Leela, Ace, The Brig, Jamie, Tegan, Ian, and then finally Donna, narrowly beating out Zoe and K-9.

Hm, that sounds familiar but I can't say for certain. I'm sure he's accustomed to us zany Whovians.

Now I'm just thinking of lumping both Romanas togeather...Actually I think Donna would either be fifth or sixth place for me. I'd probably put Romana !! 7th leaving Donna and Zoe to fight it out for fifth place.

There's a decent comedy sketch in that alleged conversation I think....

"Mr Ecclston, Mr Eccleston, you're my fifth favourourite Doctor."

Probably wouldn't have any teeth left if I told him he was my tenth favourite then...

I've added an extra couple of lines to the Father's Day review. Something I forgot to put. Just thought I'd mention.

Anyway, I've worked out I should do a review every three days to keep on track.

Ratio wise, those episodes are very heavy on the RTD era, are they trying to say the classic series sucks by comparison..hmm

The Seeds of Doom at 16 and The Ark in Space at 28? Bullshit.

I know. Neither serial is anywhere near that good.

Absolutely. But fan opinion deems them to be good, apparently. Seeds is fun, but it's not very Doctor Who.

The Seeds of Doom is enjoyable but it's far from Doctor Who's best. The Ark in Space, on the other hand, is pure rubbish.
