I'm going to a Halloween party as cousin itt and a sponsored walk as the Blues Brothers with a friend
I think I'm leaning towards a gender-swapped Harry Potter this year. I have dark hair, I have the glasses, and I have a green sweater with an H on it already which will not only be perfect but also a different approach from other Harry Potters. I found Gryffindor knee socks and a Gryffindor scarf, so all I'll need is a grey pleated skirt, which is a sensible buy anyway. Part of me wants to get colored contacts -- my eyes are already green but it's a green ring around a brown ring and they tend to look more brown unless you get up close.
^Daria's been done too. I'll do Daria next year. I'm more in a fantasy mood this year. Besides, I've blown all my money on tattoos, I can't afford combat boots right now.
I am going to a costume party this year, but it's not a huge thing, so I'm just going as a witch. I bought a very cool hat at Michaels, and I'm going to wear a short black dress and a feather boa- a flapper witch!
That's always fun to do. I've gone to the USS Hornet Halloween party here in the SF Bay Area at least once. They do it annually, but since Halloween falls on a Thursday this year, I don't know if they'll have it the weekend before or after October 31. It's nice to dress up and check out other people's costumes. There's a live band that plays on deck, and it's a great night of dancing and merriment, and it's a family-friendly event.
Now that I officially have a halloween party to go to I'm going to think about what I'll be wearing. One thing is for sure: I won't be a witch, since one of my friends is already going to be. (darn it, I could have easily pulled off a witch with one of my everyday dresses and the right things to go along with it.)
^There's room in the world for more than one witch! So, I found a bitchin' pair of Docs, and now I'm leaning back towards Daria. I just don't know.
People at my workplace will be dressing up, and I have been "encouraged" to do so as well. Should I go as a cowgirl or as a Starfleet officer?
I agree with the others. A Trek uniform never gets old. There's something alluring about a Starfleet jumpsuit. I'll be a goldshirt at the office Halloween party this year.
I really should have known better before asking that question around here. Next Generation engineering!
