Ain't It Cool News has managed to grab some of the first on-set photos of Peter Sarsgaard (An Education) as villainous Hector Hammond in Martin Campbell's big-screen version of Green Lantern. Looks pretty accurate to the comic-book version.
Put on a pair of glasses and its Nick Robinson, the BBC's political editor. Seriously though, nice shot. I can't claim to be overly familiar with the comic character but I'm glad that those who are feel the look of the movie version is faithful to him.
Looks great. I gotta say though, does anyone else think they are introducing too much in the first film? Unless they plan to keep Hammond in the background.
Given the way films are done now, they may exaggerate the head further in post. Or, they may have decided that the huge head looked ridiculously implausible as part of a "real" image - no matter what the in-comic explanation is for it, it looks like it would snap his neck.
Who? The only real Green Lantern villain is Sinestro. By "real", I mean "the only one non-hardcore comic geeks ever heard of".
Honestly, only us comic geeks have ever heard of Sinestro . . . . . He's not exactly a household name.
Hey, Challenge of the Superfriends...lots of losers watched that shit and never picked up a comic book. Of course that was like decades ago.
