Allow me to present my humble offering. Behold - every word is crafted to provide the maximum emotional impact in the least verbosity, without consulting a thesaurus ...

    "Wouldn't It Be Good?"
    By 2takesfrakes

Wouldn't it be good if Rain went past Future's End?
If only that she could, VOYAGER would get good again.
Maybe it should be left as Trekkie fantasy?
Sarah was on her way to fame and celebrity.
Wasn't the show in need of her humour and fun?
But somehow all of that potential was untied, undone.
Hotness? The world knows she's got it in abundance.
Midas' touch is what she brings to an audience.
Marry Rain to Tom (ain't that how it should've been)?
The Crew would have loved her through to the very last season.

    I have consumed
    the prune juice
    that was in
    the replicator

    and which
    you were probably
    saving
    for breakfast

    Forgive me
    it was delicious
    so sweet
    and so cold

I wrote some VOY Haikus a few years back.

    Regeneration
    In Unimatrix Zero
    Annika awakes

    **

    Kathryn your bunnage
    projected authority
    You've let yourself go!

    **

    Harry hurry up!
    Your seven year itch festers..
    Megan Delaney!

    **

    Neelix your nostril
    hairs excite my secret bits
    Pluck them! Pluck them now!

This thread's a relief! I've been constipated with creativity ...

There I was on the can
    posing like "The Thinker,"
    heaving a Havanna
    and believe me,
    it's a stinker.

That's when the ideas pop in
    - causing me to Grin.
    Trek is on my mind
as I flush a floater, one more time.

I can see vistas, as yet unknown
    and ships never flown
set to fire phasers - in little pieces
    something's blown!

As I reach for the "one hole,"
    and start to wipe, again
    In my mind's eye
    I see an alien.

It's like none I've ever seen
    as strange as Charlie Sheen,
    gesturing wildly
    at the viewing screen.

    One more flush
    and everything goes down
    Then I wash my hands
with the sliver of soap that I've found.

    Now, I'm looking dapper -
    knowing it won't be long
    til my next time
    on the crapper.

    A Vulcan Haiku;

    I like it!

    Some edgy content:

    Your Core
    Heats me...
    My Nacelle
    Powers Up...
    Warp Fields
    Folding, Wrapping 'round...
    Reaction Building
    Increasing...
    Vision blurred
    Spectral Shift...
    Utterance Indeterminant...
    One Word Identifiable
    "Engage"...

    I said out, dammit!
There was a young girl from Orion
If I said she was smart I'd be lyin'
    Her skin it was green
    Her skills were obscene
For a fourth time tonight I am tryin'

We have some really good--and some really bad--poets here. Here is my entry:

    So far, so far
from here to the nearest star!
No green oasis now awaits us.
    The frozen vastness of space.

I do not know what Varek considers good and bad poetry, but I say anyone who can put him or herself out there and rhyme "Thinker" with "stinker", "dapper" with "crapper", manage to bring Charlie Sheen in on the thing, AND talk about "...vistas unknown..." has CLEARly got something going on! :guffaw:
