I was surprised that CNN mentioned it here in the States. Of course, it was only a 5 second quick piece, but that's an improvement!

NPR did a five minute segment on the Capaldi casting Monday morning. :)

^ That's cool. Not exactly as mainstream as CNN, but nice to hear that it was covered!

There was a paragraph blurb about Capaldi's casting in the International Herald Tribune (which is a smaller version of the New York Times for international markets) in the entertainment round-up section. Granted it's an European edition, but it's still a part of the Times.

What are the Pertwee Episodes that are/were only in Black and White before they started to recolor them?

Mind of Evil (All B/W)- just released a month or two ago in color

Ambassadors of Death (Flip flopped back and forth to B/W) - Released this year in Color

Invasion of the Dinosaurs (Ep 1 B/W) - Released a few years back in color

And there's a Dalek one also, right? Is it recolored yet?

    Any more?

All my Doctor Who is TV Recordings, except I have gotten AoD and TMoE recently, and I want to get the others

Every Pertwee episode is now out on DVD, and all in colour, though in a few cases the colour-restored episode is officially listed as an optional extra (with the black and white print as the default) so as not to pretend it's 'broadcast quality', IYSWIM.

Rich Johnston, as if eager to prove that he's in way over his head, has posted another article. This one recycles an already-debunked claim, that the message "There will be 6 episodes. More information coming soon" on a BBC episode guide for Dad's Army means that the missing episodes of that series have been found. (Because of course this top secret recovery that has been the subject of NDAs is being plastered all over obscure BBC episode guides.) Of course, it actually means that the episode guide, when complete, will cover all six episodes. Which is why you can see similar messages on pages for other programmes, including those without missing episodes. If Johnston were cultivating fan sources who had even a minimal capacity for skepticism, they could have pointed this out to him.

I'm not following this... There are only three missing episodes of Dad's Army, so where does the six click in?

^As I read it, the point is that the "six episodes" line had nothing to do with missing episodes but was instead about the contents of an upcoming episode guide. It was misinterpreted.

Jeez, he's really grasping at straws to prove himself, isn't he? Almost as bad as Ian Levine.

The episode guide in question is for series two, which has six episodes overall, including the three missing. So the page says "there will be 6 episodes," meaning that the guide will eventually cover all episodes from series two, not just the three surviving episodes that were rerun a couple years back and are the focus of the guide so far. Unless you're Rich Johnston, in which case it means that all three episodes have been found, and the six-episode series will soon be complete.

It does seem that having dug himself into a hole by believing all the crap about 90 missing episodes being found, he's decided that the best course of action is not to climb out but to keep digging in the vain hope that something, somewhere will eventually turn up.

    Which it won't.

The latest ridiculous notion, which will probably be another Bleeding Cool "smoking gun" by tomorrow, is that the reason there are two pre-order pages for the "Scream of the Shalka" DVD on Amazon UK is that one of them is a placeholder for that secret DVD release of "The Enemy of the World." Because of course all that content is going to be passed by the BBFC and authored to disc in the next five weeks.

You can find multiple listings for loads of DVD pre-orders on Amazon. Always have done.

Review copies of 'Terror Of the Zygons' should be available at the end of the month. What happens when it doesn't include the trailer for whatever recovered story there was supposed to be a trailer for on it...

A few more people will stop believing, someone will say "But the rest of it might still be true!", and within a day or so the rumor will be back in place. It's happened several times with developments that ought to have killed or at least crippled this claim. Some of the "trustworthy sources" are now saying the "negotiations" may run on into 2014, so not even the anniversary coming and going with no announcement will finish it off.

Obviously the review copies are special and have the trailer removed to not spoil the surprise to general public when the general release is made available.

You seriously think someone isn't going to try and suggest just that?

Which isn't a totally stupid thing to suggest, as the preview discs for the TV series often have key scenes missing.
But it is stupid in reality, as it misses the point that the review discs for the DVDs are extra copies of the check discs - they have to run off a couple to make sure it's mastered correctly, and it costs peanuts to run off a few dozen more to send out to reviewers. To produce a special trailer-less one for reviews would mean a separate mastering process, and that would cost proper money. So not gonna happen.

Region 1 review copies have already gone out without a trailer on it.
