Why couldn't they just make an actual 8th Doctor from "The Night of the Doctor"? That would be awesome and would probably compel me to come out of my figure-buying retirement.
I wonder if there will be a Character Building mini-figure. There was this recreation of the final scene of "The Day of The Doctor" on Twitter, though what subbed in for Hurt's Doctor is a bit amusing.
Well, it's bringing me out of retirement. Or semi-retirement actually since I just picked up the Ace figure. I agree the 8th from "The Night of the Doctor" would be sweet (and the swappable head does nothing for me) but the Hurt Doctor is worth getting.
It's funny that the packaging refers to Hurt's character as "The Other Doctor" rather than "The War Doctor".
Ooo, I found this cool set featuring the 8th Doctor and Dalek. I think I may get this! (There are also Dalek sets with each of the other Doctors too.)
Big Chief's 12 inch collectible dolls of Tom Baker and David Tennant are reaching their customers this week. My Baker arrived yesterday. The pre-order and payment procedures have awkward and a bit "trying" for some, but once the makers received their initial stock, they've been shipping them via FedEx international. So far they've released a Matt Smith, an Amy Pond, and now the afore mentioned Tennant and Baker. Next on BC's agenda is William Hartnell. While I'd love to get every one released, the prices are comparable with those of SideShow. I opted to get my "personal first" and favorite regeneration, Tom. Sincerely, Bill
Yup, I got my Tennant figure yesterday and think it looks freakin fantastic. The quality of the sculpt and costume appears even higher than that of the Smith figure, and in fact it even looks better than some of my Hot Toys figs. Supposedly they're also working on a Hartnell figure, which I really can't wait to see.
I've never liked their prices. It's cheaper for me to get my figures from the US or from friends in the UK. I've got that set, and the FX Special Weapons Dalek coming from Mike's Comics, with shipping, for $80.
That is a nice repaint. I always thought that the Eighth Doctor's costume kind of evolved over time (or at least, he didn't always have the exact same one he started out with).
I bought the set. It's really nice, particularly Dalek Alpha. Now if only they'd do a Night of the Doctor McGann.
The eighth Doctor switched to a blue coat in the DWM comics. For the first half of the eighth Doctor comic strips it didn't matter because they were printed in black and white. But when they switched to full-color comic strips with DWM #300, they found that trying to replicate the green velvet look didn't work. Blue was easier. "Children of the Revolution" is interesting. It's a sequel to "Evil of the Daleks"; we find out what happened to the humanized Daleks. Altered Vistas did an animated adaptation of the story about a decade ago.
Just found the larger scale 10th Doctor at ToyR'Us. I didn't even know these existed/were going to exist. Same packaging/scale as the current Ace figure. Can anyone tell me more about this line??
