Quick question: in this month's Star Trek magazine, it says that the ENT novel Kobayashi Maru is the second lead-in to the Destiny trilogy. If that's so, what's the first one?
Well, I'll have to wait till November 3, apparently, since amazon.de seem to get their English books from amazon.uk...
Ok, that's my problem, I've been looking at Star Trek 101 which I thought had been hitting the stores. It didn't occur to me to look I knew was out already.
Well, The Book Depository have screwed up for the first time ever! Which is more than a little annoying!
I'm sorry to hear that and I got my email confirmation this morning and it'll be with me by trusty (yeah right) Royal Mail by the end of the week!
I checked my local Barnes and Noble store this morning and they didn't have any copies out yet. I would of asked but I wanted to get home since I worked the nite before and well I can check again this week. Can't wait to get my hands on it through. Gotta finish KM first.
The Barnes & Nobles in Glendale, CA (near Los Angeles) says it will have Destiny in store on the 30th. I'm tempted to order online, but it probably won't arrive any faster than just waiting for the store to get its copy. Has anyone else noticed that Southern California stores get books later than more eastern parts of the country? Is that because the books ship from the east? Also, Borders has stopped being a reliable source of Trek. At most a dozen and half books, usually old, are in stock at the Borders around Pasadena/Glendale. B&N always wins in regards to Trek stock. Is it like that for others?
TheBookDepository has now dispatched mine and I should have it delivered within the week, but there are still about four or five books to read before I can read Gods of Night.
That sounds pretty close to what the one in Glendale, Az has. There's a B&N down the street a little ways, but it has even less Trek books than Borders.
Haven't checked in any NYC stores recently, but none of the Borders near me in New Jersey have got the book in as yet.
Woo Hoo. Finally got my copy after the shipping was delayed by a week. The cover looks so much nicer when you look at it up close... I wonder if the covers are available as one poster.. Clay, I was at the Borders on 34th yesterday and it's on reserve. Evidently it seems to be a hard one to come by cause the Barnes and Nobles on 5th does not yet have it either.
We're hoping to print all three text-free in STM 15 to accompany the review - the size will depend on space available. Paul
