Quicksilver manged to do with out goggles for about 50 years. Speedsters in goggles is somewhat new. Part of the overthinking of modern comics. Next I expect to see a reinforced neck on Cyclops' costume to stop to prevent recoil from his optic beams.

Then again, people like Cyclops and Rogue have always had negative consequences to their powers. Needing goggles fits with this. Regardless of whether this is a new idea or not, a movie can consider this idea fresh and decide this makes sense.

The negatives tended to be in areas like social interaction/stigma and fear of harming others. Cyclops was well know for his "panic attacks" when his visor or glasses were removed. Part of Marvel's "woe is me" approach to super heroes. The dust in the eyes thing isn't quite the same thing.

Fair point. I think it's minor either way. I suppose the Flash doesn't have goggles.

Jay and Barry didn't. Wally had lenses in his mask, IIRC.

Speed Force. That always solves every single speedster problem in the DC universe. :p

Yea I remember in the comics that it was Magneto who drained him of it. Instead of what it was in the movie itself. I wonder how he'll get it back? It should be interesting though, that's for sure :). Liked the last entry and am really excited for this one.

He wasn't drained of all his adamantium, he just had his claws cut off.

Yeah, Magneto could still control Wolverine's body during the post credits scene of his recent movie.

Ah forgot about that. Thought it was a full drain there.

It's rather interesting that one of the covers features Blink, and it seems to be the earlier version of the character who is probably better known from the Exiles run. That is, the AoA version and not the 616 version, who is essentially a villain now because of Selene.

Fine by me, I prefer the AoA Blink anyway. :)

If I'm not mistaken the drain was only of his powers.

Yeah. They cut off his claws so they could access Logan's bone marrow. That's how it looked to me, anyway.

    First Rogue, now Storm.

Halle Berry scenes cut from movie?

So they manage to get a load of the actors from the original trilogy back, and now they're barely even using them?

^ Which doesn't keep them from using them extensively in the marketing materials, apparently.

Where's a facepalm smiley when we need one? :scream:

Come on, what is up with these movie people (not the actors, but the ones working on the film)? I was looking forward to seeing both of these characters.

Well the report did say her role was cut down. Not cut completely like Rogue's was.

I suppose this shows that her role isn't really important to the movie, but it still stings a bit, since it would have been great seeing Storm back in action. Plus if I recall her role was a bit larger in the comic.

I wouldn't trust the source, although given the reshoots and re-structuring of the movie I wouldn't be surprised. From what I've heard, the original trilogy actors never had a huge part anyway.
