Oh man. I have seen so few of these movies I may have to hand in my "movie lover" card :(

In my defence, Hubby doesn't like to go to "do you really want to watch me cry" movies in public...which I guess means that I need to "watch him cry" at home more!

    Anyway,

    Voted! :-)

I've seen all but three of 'em...and one of 'em was my dad's favorite chick flick.

I've seen 3 of them (which I guess helped me vote for 2!)

Which one was your Dad's favourite chick flick od0? Maybe I can sneak that one in...unless it was Mr. Holland's Opus or Steel Magnolias (or The Road, but I guess that isn't a chick flick!)

    It was Steel Magnolias.

And I don't think Mr Holland's Opus would count as a chick flick.

    Ah. He's seen that one.

I wonder if I could sneak "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" past him...

Not sure if that's a chick flick either. It's sorta SF.

Out of these movies, I've only seen (besides Forbidden Games, my own entry) Eternal Sunshine - which I really liked but didn't think it was a tearjerker, and The Notebook, which is so-so. But I voted, as I often do, for the avatars rather than the movies - I haven't seen Testament or The Road, but those are strong images - heck, I don't even know what Testament is, but that pic is great.

Testament is about a family dealing with the aftermath of nuclear war. It's very depressing.

Never seen Testament? You should. It stars Jane Alexander as a mother in a small Northern California town. After a nuclear attack, they are left isolated and have to manage day to day on their own. It's a very simple, quiet and heartbreaking movie. Watch it some day, alone, with a box of Kleenex.
