Well, I've signed a lease for a room in a three-story house in Brewers Hill, about ten blocks away from my new office.

    This is really happening...

    It's why I moved. :p

Always welcome at my place in Gaithersburg. I have good beer and I am a decent cook.

And it turns out that I'm supposed to fly into Baltimore on Sunday ... when a gigantic storm is supposed to pummel the East Coast ... and I have a terrible fear of flying (I brace myself against the seat in front of me when there's a bump, for heaven's sake). And I fly MSN-ATL-RDU-BWI.

    Anybody have a Xanax?

National and BWI airports have cancelled all flights for the rest of the day.

Walked more than four miles today. Highlandtown to Fells Point (and all around Fells), down Aliceanna and Boston Street, changed directions at East Avenue and walked to Canton Square, then headed back home in Highlandtown. Pictures to come soon. Holy God, my feet hurt.

It really is. I don't think I could ever live in a city that didn't have a waterfront.

For those unfamiliar with the area, this is the route I walked yesterday:

As I said, holy balls did my feet hurt after that.

My feet hurt just looking at that map!

Have you made it past Camden Yards yet?

Camden (and M&T Bank Stadium) are essentially on the southern outskirts of the city, near Federal Hill. I went past them on my cab ride from the airport, but I haven't genuinely explored the area across the harbor yet. I was going to take a water taxi over there today and see more of the neighborhood, but I didn't sleep well last night and I decided to lay low, chill on the couch and watch football.

^ If you ever actually go to an O's game, make sure you have a Boog Powell BBQ sandwich, they're delicious. Sometimes Boog himself will be there to help serve 'em.

I've never been to this part of Baltimore (I've only visited Camden Yards and Inner Harbor as well as couple of the Baltimore suburbs, that I can recall)

Looks like a good walk from what I saw on google's street view. I really need to see more of the city next time I'm in Baltimore.

FWIW, the water cabs are nice. The last time we had a Board Meetup in Baltimore, we took one from the inner harbor to Fells Point. Now I wouldn't recommend them for regular use, but they're good for exploring.

So ... my time in Baltimore is coming to an end. All indications were that my company was going to allow me to move back to the Midwest and work remotely (due to me already being remote from the rest of the marketing team, which is based in Atlanta), but they did an about-face and refused, asking me to stay here for another six months at least ... and I declined and tendered my resignation on Friday. I'll be here through the end of October, and then I'm leaving the east coast. So long, y'all!

No, but seriously. What do I need to do before I leave? I've caught several games at Camden Yards (such a magnificent stadium), eaten at some of the great restaurants around here, spent time in Washington, D.C., broken bread with Shatna, and generally had a decent time. But what am I missing? Help me, TrekBBS -- you're my only hope!
