OK...have you ever thought of particular songs that suited a character and their story?

I know I've got a few songs that could become "official" character themes...

I'm afraid I can't take credit for making the connection on the first one--rather, the creator of this fanvid did. But here's a freaking awesome one for Dukat: "The End Has Come" by Ben Moody (lyrics here).

But here's a pairing I came up with myself. This is "Russia on Ice" by Porcupine Tree, and it makes SUCH a perfect theme for Damar (lyrics here). Just replace "Russia" with "Cardassia"... (Ignore the video on this one.)

Here's one I recently did: Damar with "Here's to the Heroes" by the Ten Tenors.

    That one works perfectly.

But on a more light-hearted note, I enjoy the Garak: Obsidian Order Man video. And the Rom's Got It! video by the same user is hilarious. :techman:

A song I heard recently gave me a similar idea for Dukat video (in a more light-hearted mode, like the Garak one above), but I won't tell because I'm working on the fanvideo, so you'll see it when it's finished. :)

I loved that Garak vid. It makes me laugh every time I watch it, and do link to yours when it's finished! I definitely want to see it.

    Very nice!

Too bad we couldn't hear Damar's voice--but even his look was quite powerful in several cases. I mean, when he shot Rusot...so heartbroken and yet so resolute...

Call me a James Bond Freak--

But I'd give Jadzia Dax "Diamonds Are Forever" (It fits her domineering-yet-dismissive view of men, pre-Worf: "...Men are mere mortals, who are not worth going to your grave for...").

Luther Sloan, "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (Immensely cool, with a dark, kinda-creepy undertone).

Ezri, "You Only Live Twice" (The strings in the orchestra fit her innocence and gentle spirit perfectly).

Julian, "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" (That's the alternate theme to Thunderball, BTW).

Gul Dukat...probably "Goldfinger" ("...Golden words, he will pour in your EAR...but his LIES can't disguise what you FEAR...").

That's actually my favorite Bond flick of all times. I know I'm in the minority on that one.

^Mine's Thunderball. Casino Royale (the new one--not the old parody) comes in close second. But then, I have yet to see the entire series....

Glad you enjoyed!!! It would SO rule if someone made a Damar vid with this song--scenes of his emotional anguish at the beginning, and then at the end when it picked up, his turning point and the rebellion.

I, unfortunately, lack the skill for such a thing, but I would LOVE to see it brought to life someday.

^I lack the skill, too--or at least...the proper software....

Here's another idea: "Holding Out For A Hero" by Bonnie Tyler, for Worf.

(Someone on YouTube did a vid with this song for Jack Bauer, and it got me thinking....)

    OH MY GOD...

Just replace the name "Cosette" with "Nerys" or "Iliana"...good Lord, you've even got the shri-tal in here!

This is SO Tekeny Ghemor's theme.

    (ETA: Have tissues handy.)

Personally, I love this theme for Bashir - Kryptonite. It really fits with his rather tragic character arc, and his involvement with Section 31, as well as his friendship with O'Brien, one of the best friendships in all of Star Trek.

Well for Damar I can see Rage Against the Machine's "Take the Power Back" with a few things changed in the lyrics to fit his whole "rebellion" attitude. Or for pre-DS9 Kira too.

For some reason Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Phenomena" sorta fits Jadzia. I dunno why but I picture her when I hear that song.

Motorhead's "A Short Life" sort of would work for Worf or any of the Klingons - although nearly any Motorhead song would fit the Klingons. LOL. I'm sure I could see Lemmy hangin' with the Klingots.

Weird, but for Quark, I hear Christophe Beck's score cue "The Buffy Rat", from "Buffy the Vamprie Slayer".

Sisko, oddly enough , I hear Alexis' theme (Angela Morley) from "Dynasty":

A rather easy one is Martok: the Klingon March fits perfectly with him.

Particularly the version in the TFF end credits (film version, not the CD version).

    Here's another one:

For the female changeling (Odo's nemesis), I'd give "Goldeneye". The whole song describes PERFECTLY the lengths to which she will go to bring Odo under her influence....
