Here's a look at some tests of characters actions for Star Trek:Absolution animated series.

Note that the characters head are swappable in the actual show and will have lots of different emotions, unlike this test.

Did you mean "peek" at Absolution? ;)

Honestly, no one will care how good or poor the animation looks if you have a good story to tell.

Do you have a good story to tell?

Haha. Yes I meant peek. I disagree about the anination quality. If sonething looks really bad it distracts from the story. Fortunately I believe I have an awesome story to tell

Well, I think the GoAnimate stuff looks "really bad."

But if you have a good story, I'll tolerate it.

Well I'm not using any goanimate "stuff". it's all custom made. But sounds like you made your mind up already. What would be acceptable copying TAS?

I think it's best to go with whatever style you are most comfortable working with. It's your project. Have fun with it!

I'm confused, then. It says "Goanimate" in the corner of your test, so I assumed you were using their format.

As for making up my mind, I've only got your test to go off of. And I have made up my mind on that. It looks terrible to me.

Again, though, I couldn't care less about that if you tell a good story.

Look at Star Trek: Aurora for something "acceptable."

Who is too say what is and isn't "acceptable" in an animated fan film? Why should someone have to copy another artist's style, in order to be accepted? An artist should be able to create whatever they want, without being dictated to by others.

The OP asked what was "acceptable." I simply expressed my opinion about that.

GoAnimate is definitely not everyone's cup-of-tea. I personally am not a fan of that style of animation, but a lot of people enjoy it. I think anyone playing with that medium should have the freedom to do whatever they want with it.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that the OP doesn't have that freedom.

The OP asked what would be acceptable, and I gave my opinion. Nothing more than that.

I was using GA studio to test the actions as its a much more simpler platform to do it than to do it in the flash studio on my pc.

On Ga you simply click on the character and select the action. In flash studio u have to open each file and import them into the stage and then match them up to size and position. Very laborious.

I don't see what you find hilarious, but each to their own. Its a test! Not a fan film as yet. A lot of people interested in doing voicework have asked me for a look at the characters. Once Ive tested them all I'll animate it in theflash studio and edit on my pc not in GA.
