She passed away a couple of days ago, in Burbank, CA. She was one very funny lady, starring in The Sting, Private Benjamin, and Clue. But my favorite role was Murder by Death--a funny movie made better if you're familiar with old-style movie detectives. So many great lines by just about every character. Imdb it, rent it, buy it, whatever. You owe yourself a good laugh, and she and the other actors will provide it.
When I was a kid, she was one of those character actors who was everywhere. She was always the same, yet always somehow different, and always great. RIP, Eileen.
<can't remember her, Google images is my friend> Awww, she was great! The Sting is a favourite film, she was really good in that! Damn shame. They're all going.
It's on right now. Tim Curry was really being used to try to get the energy up. I liked him, but they made his character a bit too frantic. Playing Franknfurter really limited his future. See "Murder By Death" to see how thie could've been played--a lot of quirky characters not really going anywhere and faced with dead bodies...in a comedy.
I saw Private Benjamin the TV show before I saw the movie (it was rated R), and she was by far the best part of the series. She was always memorable, a pleasure to watch. RIP.
