This year's Doctor Who contributions to Children in Need has been announced, and it's all about the Christmas Special. We're getting both a prequel to the episode and an exclusive trailer. For those in the UK, you can see both when Children in Need airs this Friday the 16th on BBC One. They will be online soon after. Wibbly wobbly, linky dinky ETA: While this isn't related to CiN, it's related to the Christmas Special, so I'll just put it here. Nice. Looks like the Doc is channeling a bit of Ebeneezer there. I've missed these CiN mini-sodes in recent years, so this is welcome news.
Well, the incidental music in the minisode was interesting. Pretty sure it's some of the Bartok used in The Web of Fear - which could mean that they just used a suitably creepy stock track because Murray Gold was busy, or...
That was pretty funny, I am, looking forward to this years Christmas special. It won't be hard to top last years though.
They're up on Youtube now. Here's the prequel, titled "The Great Detective", in HD quality: [yt]www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYsexXUr_Jk[/yt] And here's the trailer for the 2012 Christmas Special, "The Snowmen": [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3KVpvEUTns[/yt] Actual, literal evil snowmen. Of course!
That was fun and so was the Trailer. Does something look different about Vastra? Or is it just the hood making her seem to look different?
I noticed that too. The light is shining at an angle that brightens her face. The bright light diminishes all the detailing Also noticed they didn't do makeup on her lower lip
So the Doctor has 'retired'... because of Amy and Rory's departure? Geez, did he go and read Twilight or something? Jenna looks really uncomfortable with those links. At least Matt throws himself into the role really well (despite obviously reading his lines to start with). Jenna just seems to be not willing to embrace the geek-magnet she'll become just yet.
"I've declared war on the moon!" I have to say seeing a Sontaran in a tuxedo is the funniest thing I've ever seen. I love The Eleventh Doctor's rumpled top hat. Reminds me of The Second Doctor's old stovepipe hat.
Ah...yes, that's it, thanks. The lack of lip color, gives an optical illusion of her lower face looking kinda "sucked in", like she ate a lemon
I think they'll be playing her as a "Oh I'm not impressed at the Diamond Planet with oil in the sky" The straight man to Matt Smith's doctor. I loved the way she delivered this.
