CBS brings down the ax on their horrible new comedy Partners. I only made it through an episode, but sorry if anyone was really enjoying it. It's being replaced with a 2.5 Men rerun for at least a week.

I watched one episode because the Sklar Brothers were in it, and it was a painfully unfunny show.

I'm not surprised at all. Even Rules of Engagement is better than this dreck.

Partners "was" insubstantial, but it fulfils the criteria of a sitcom 20 years ago.

I think I was beginning to like it.

The first ep was absolutely terrible, but I stuck around because of Bush. I quite liked the other episodes.

Maybe with another group of writers, it could have been funny. With the writers they had, though, every episode was a rerun of the forumula they developed in the pilot.

Straight man and girlfriend have romance.
Gay man inserts himself in SM&G's life.
SM begs GM to stop. GM delivers "life lesson" to SM's GF, while GM's boyfriend does his best impersonation of cardboard.
Sassy secretary delivers one sassy line.
GM's plot fails. SM saves the day. GM says thank you and vows to never do this again.
    Rinse, repeat for next episode.

It wasn't going anywhere and the plots were rehashed but it was nice. You know what show I miss that had a really short run was the show that was a few seasons ago with Jason Biggs I think and friend of his with Sarah Chaulke. I liked that show.

^ Mad Love, I liked that show too. Labine and Greer are especially hilarious.

    Biggs was the weak link.

If that show had focussed on Judy Greer and Tyler Labine and their hatefucking.

They were easily the most interesting, but that's because Biggs played the straight-man.

Well it's not like Biggs was ever super funny. The only reason he's famous is because he stuck his dick in a pie. ;)

Currently he's playing a cartoon Turtle on Nickelodeon.

I'd say Eugenie Levy is probably better known than Biggs. At least that's what I'd think. Then if you don't know who Stiflers Mom is you've lived under a rock for far too long. You may not know her name, but lets be honest it wasn't her name you were watching it for.

Eugene Levy is WAAAAAAY better known than Biggs. He was in SCTV and tons of movies. Sadly, he was also in all of those non-canon American Pie movies too.

Go watch Best In Show it has both Eugene Levy and Stiffler's Mom in it, and was much funnier than all of the American Pie movies. After that, go back and watch the rest of the Christopher Guest movies (Spinal Tap, Waiting for Guffman, A Mighty Wind, For Your Consideration). Some of the best comedy out there.

Lois on family guy tried to seduce Justin Bieber...

    "Just call me Mrs Robinson."

"i don't understand? Is that some sort of cultural reference?"

    "Stifflers Mom, I'm Stifflers mom."

"Still don't get it, is there something you want me to sign or..."

    ....

    :)

Kids today just haven't been alive long enough to watch everything made since they were born, and we expect them to be knowledgeable of filth from 30, sometimes 40 years before their birth.

Yeah but Levy and Coolidge were known before AP. AP is the only reason anyone knows who Biggs is.

I looked through Jason's imdb listing, and remembered his role on The Good Wife last year where he didn't play the same damn romcom character he always does and it was refreshing to see that he could act (the same can be said about being a turtle.) but if you go back ten years he was Woody Allen in a Woody Allen movie Woody wrote where Woody was too old to play himself, of course the character wasn't called Woody Allen, it was just a role that would have been Woody's own 30 years earlier.

    Anything Else
