The Romulan Faction alone is worth it. Right now I'm on Nimbus III. Yes, THE Nimbus III. :D

Can someone do me a favor? Since I'm not sure how to invite someone to the fleet, could someone invite Miko's Romulan?

    Thanks bunches

Yup, the two Stargate franchise inspired missions were interesting. Being able to visit Stargate Command and protecting Atlantis from invaders in a puddle jumper were amusing.

I don't think I'm that far along, yet. I just finished chasing Hassan through the most awesome bar room brawl ever. That's when the server went down (fortunately after I completed it!).

By the way, every time I see "Hassan," all I can think of is "Hassan... CHOP!" from the Bugs Bunny cartoons.

Well so far I can't say I'm impressed. The game runs rather slowly on my computer and the graphics are... dissapointing... though that may be because the game has lowered its graphics for my card (I _am_ using a 3 year-old office computer, although I played more graphic-intense games with my previous PC.)

And... did they just pit me against the Borg in the tutorial ? Poor Borg, ever weaker.

Not sure why you are disappointed in the graphics, might indeed be your settings and computer specs.

You might wanne check the Screenshot thread to see what some people squeeze out of their machine.

Not sure why the graphs would even matter that much in an online game. But that's a preference thing. I'm more hung up on the game play and what it's like to play with others. If I want beautiful graphs I play solo. Besides, the design matters more than the graphs in ST. And the design is great.

I'm dissapointed because, although graphics are the least important aspect of a game, I have the impression of playing a game made 10-12 years ago. Again, it might be my system, but it doesn't help me endure the lag.

Well, I think it's normal for MMOs not to have top notch graphics.
They deliberately keep polygon counts down so even people with low end machines can still play the game with decent performance.

Sucks to be me, then. :D I bought this computer because I didn't do any gaming anymore, so it didn't matter. But given that MMOs indeed are usually low on graphics, I figured I could play it easily.

This. It was funny though. When Age of Conan came out, my sisters bought new computers to play it haha

I heard the RCS Accelerator console got redone with the update, and that it's now effective for non-escorts. Was it borked before? What changed, specifically? Because if this is true, I might have to try out my all-rcs-console Oddy again...

Also, all them folks driving up the prices of low-end stuff on the Exchange. Why can't they do that to the high-end stuff too? :p

Tutorial Borg are definitely not in-game Borg.

Yep. It was borked. The RCS Accelerator was virtually useless for a long time.

Yep. I see most rare Mk IV - Mk VI stuff running absurd prices.

Guys, I'm quite new to Star Trek Online so I'm way behind in just about every way. Anyway, the last time I played was last year because it was impossible for me to get past the Dresdens Comet challenge. It seemed like a glitch and I became frustrated. Anyway, I've come back to the game but after 5 minutes of waiting, it reads exactly 1% patched. What gives?

What gives is that you've been gone for a year and missed several major updates, just face it it's gonna take ya quite a while. Set it to go and be ready to play the next day.

Yeah, you've got about 7 GB of data that needs updated.

By the way, disregard the D'Deridex comment from earlier in this thread. I have decided to keep my Mogai escort. It's much more nimble, and can lay down more firepower faster. I miss some of the extra Boff slots, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make in order to move the ship. I'll save up for some beam arrays for the D'Deridex class and use it as the cruiser it is, maybe further down the line.

Sweet mercy, that ship moves like a tub, even with a green Mk VIII RCS Accelerator.
