Continuing the amazing releases of compete Star Trek movie scores, it seems that Cliff Eidelman's score to TUC will be released by Intrada next month.

Word is it will be a 2 CD release with the trailer music and alternates (and probably the original album presentation as well).

Excellent news; I've been greatly enjoying the re-releases of these scores (with new material and terrific liner notes). This being one of my favorite Trek scores, I can't wait.

Cannot wait for this one... actually, been waiting for this for about 20 years!

That said, I've actually been listening to TVH expanded score much more than I thought I would... and have listened to it in it's entirety more than the Trek II, III, or V expanded scores... even though Trek IV is my least favorite score... regardless, the extended album is great. Very intriguing.

This is great news! I really hope an all bells and whistles release of TMP follows before we get into the TNG era.

The original score album for Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country was the first CD I ever bought -- almost 13 years ago now. Damn.

Wow, I feel really old now. My first CD was Ghost In The Machine by The Police in the mid 80's!

    Well, I wasn't born then, so... :p

Let's not overlook Goldsmith's TNG movie scores (or, for that matter, a properly mixed version of McCarthy's TNG movie score).

Generations is one of the most underrated scores of the Trek movie canon. The album was mixed horribly and, as usual, many outstanding cues were left off the album. The score was big, bold, melodic and totally opposite of what was being one on the small screen. This score brought loud music back to Star Trek. McCarthy reused some motifs in DS9 episodes to underscore space battle action.

It's good stuff and it also has much heart.

LOL! Yup my tastes were all over the place in the 80s. Loved the 80s New British Invasion stuff, but I loved Huey Lewis in the News as well. Some of my favorite 80s bands were the Police, Genesis, Huey, Alan Parsons Project, Eurythmics to name a few.

But back on topic, I CANNOT wait for this score. One of my favorite Trek movie scores! Great that it's getting a proper release.
