Eventually! The Excelsior shapes are difficult to figure out.

Wait - the top front back?

Must be some commas that go in there :)

This is more of a planning sketch. I have this kitbash started and abandoned in a box somewhere. This would be another in the line of "Over the Top Fanboi Battlewagons Just For Fun" series:

    Cool Design :)

Can i suggest W.A.D.E Deflectors for the saucer on the sides around the shuttlebay?

You can, but you'll have to tell me what they are too. :)

I don't know about over the top. This could be rationalized as Starfleet responding to the V'Ger incursion with a design that has a little (or maybe even a lot) more firepower than an Enterprise (Constitution refit) class in a spaceframe with profile not much larger than and not much less maneuverable than a Miranda/Avenger/Reliant/whatever class.

It's certainly nowhere near as over-the-top as your Coeur de Lion. ;)

I like it. In truth that's how I always imagined a Constellation-class variant or prototype with the way the nacelles are mounted there.

If you think of the thick saucer as the regular Constellation, remove the rollbar/torpedo launcher structures and relocate those to the main hull and then move back the nacelles just a touch it's got a good sturdy look.

I actually may tackle this idea on my next model project.

Also I love love LOVE your Claymore class. That design makes a lot more sense than the Nebula as a re-use of Galaxy-class components.

Look up the Daran class subclass Brooke in the Ships of the Starfleet :)

and look up WADE deflector units in the glossary :)

    I'll make it easy.

Here's the Daran and here's the Brooke.

John, it looks like Kairser is referring to those two grid blocks in the front of the primary hull of the Brooke. A minor detail (I had no idea they were called "W.A.D.E. deflectors"), but I'm assuming it was one particular attempt at putting a kind of forward navigational deflector on Miranda-esque designs that don't generally have a secondary hull.
