    Very possible and something that's been on my mind since they announced the Potter slot way back when.
    I made what seems to be my first concern of opening post Potter back on page 56, post 839 ironically enough a year to the date that film opens, July 22, 2010.
    Potter is going to have to have a huge 65-70% drop AND Captain America needs to open strong, as strong as THOR, around $65m+ to be #1 I think. If it's as good as it seems it'd be a shame for it not at least have one weekend in limelight.

    I thought it was incredible. Certainly not what I expected. Not really a super-hero story at all.

    Sadly, I don't think Cap will get number one. Places around here are essentially sold out for Harry Potter for the first week. People who want to see it have to see it next weekend. A drop doesn't seem all that likely.

    I was able to catch an early free showing of the movie last night. While I wouldn't say it was bad, I was certainly disappointed. The pacing was a bit to fast. To top it off, certain elements were rushed through and not really explained well. There were some interesting ties to the Thor movie. Overall, it just had too much of a setup movie feel to it.

    Turns out that after all the talk of them going with a body double and CGI'ing Evans head onto another actor they filmed Chris Evans and digitally "shrunk" his body.

    Reviews should be hitting tomorrow or hopefully within hours if it's an online outlet

    That's a pretty shitty review, though. It's always a warning sign when the writer's more interested in their own cleverness than reviewing the subject.

    It's too smug, and the author clearly hasn't really thought out her ideal Captain America film, where Steve confronts the real-life atrocities of the Holocaust.

    That's horsepoop, IMO. The Twin Towers have been considered iconic since the day they were completed. Every fricking movie made in NYC before 9/11 featured the obligatory shot of them. And as for the '76 King Kong, the one thing that the film actually got right was having him climb the Twin Towers, because they were the tallest buildings in the city, in their day.....just as the ESB was the tallest building of its day.

    Read my post again. I said not 'as iconic', meaning as iconic as they are now. I didn't say they weren't iconic but let's face it, being at the centre of the greatest terrorist outrage in US history elevated them to a level of fame and attention they previously hadn't had.

    And in relation to King Kong, I'm merely repeating a criticism I've heard levelled at the movie.
