Re: New Star Trek Fan Film It's been quite a thrill for me to see how the story I wrote has come alive. Certainly can't afford them, so tell the story so it doesn't dwell on them. Same thing with all the other vignettes and episodes in the production line. I'm looking forward to Steve's score, for sure! Ha! You get your comeuppance soon enough, remember? Well, yes it does! I have to tell you when I first met Jeff and heard his voice, I stopped him short: He was PERFECT for a starship captain. We get to see a lot of him in only a few episodes, but when he's there, man, is he a presence to be dealt with.
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film Have updated the website with lots of info, including a list of scenes that remain to be shot: www.projectpotemkin.com. I think we only have three more days at the park to shoot. Then we'll move to Fast Copy for two days, the bridge for one day, and the stairwell at the GSW theater for one day. And aside from voiceovers, at that point, we should be done with the filming of "The Night the Stars Fell from the Sky." We also are hard at work still on the panel animations for "The Void." We've a number of volunteers working on it, and would always welcome more help. Lastly, always be sure to check out our facebook page for the latest photos from the production: http://www.facebook.com/groups/projectpotemkin/
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film Project: Potemkin has been busy filming the last 16 weekends at the Radium Springs Gardens in Albany, Georgia. But that doesn't mean all our efforts have been focused on this episode. Our first full-length episode, "The Void," is rapidly approaching completion. There's one act to go for Panel Animation VFX, and there's the music. Steve Gallant is hard at work on the episode. We expect to debut the episode this fall. Work has begun on the panel animations for "Doctor's Orders" and "Delivery." Both these vignettes will be ready this fall as well, barring any major setbacks. VFX work for "Miscommunication" is underway with Bob Reed taking on the dreaded flying pyramids of Gaius XI. Editing has begun on "The Engineer's New Clothes," even though this episode will still need some 2nd Unit videography. VFX work for "Archway" is being completed by Jon Carling. Editing will begin soon on "The Devil in the Details" by Director Mario Pagan. Filming continued on "The Night the Stars Fell from the Sky" with us filming in the ready room on Thursday, 9/29/11: Other pics here: http://s1112.photobucket.com/albums/k485/Project_Potemkin/Ready Room Shoot/ And filming continued on Saturday for this episode as well: Additional photos can be seen here: http://s1112.photobucket.com/albums/k485/Project_Potemkin/Planet Sumaya/ Be sure and check out our FaceBook page for daily updates! http://www.facebook.com/groups/projectpotemkin/ This shoot wrapped the Radium Springs Gardens location. Four more days of shooting, and this episode will be in the can!
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film Updated the main Potemkin page with an article and pictures on the Preserver cave shoot. Will be doing the same for the Transporter room shoot. Transporter room construction well under way. Should be ready if we decide to shoot Thursday.
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film Have updated our Photobucket page and FaceBook page with pics of the transporter room construction. Our next expected shoot is November 2nd with the landing party cast beaming up aboard. It's a critical scene, and we should have the set done by the end of the weekend.
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film Looking great! Is the vast majority of the background going to be computer generated? If not, we used to use those egg crate light diffusers on the side to create the movie-era Transporter backdrop. They come in 2 x 4 panels and with 8-10 of them, you can make the entire backdrop. We were lucky at the time -- my dad used to work for a hardware store and managed to get almost an entire palette that were chipped for free. Always like the sets on the cheap -- but it worked great for a backdrop! Steve
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film For the transporter room, it's going to be a physical set. I'll be trying to different approaches for the background tomorrow and will pick the one I like best. We have access to some of those crate light fixtures (they're overhead in fact), and may use them or even some standard light crystals with a flashing light behind it. Depends on how it comes out tomorrow.
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film We are very close to releasing "The Void" and "Doctor's Orders" -- "The Void" is undergoing scoring right now. It is the last step to be completed. "Doctor's Orders" is receiving credits right now. Everything else is done with the episode, but we'd like to release it after "The Void." The next vignette, "Delivery," should be done soon as well. This weekend, I updated the NEWS section of the Project: Potemkin website with an article on the construction of the transporter room http://www.projectpotemkin.com/index.php?id=154), and tweaked the upcoming shoot list as well as the production list: http://www.projectpotemkin.com/index.php?id=151. November 19th is coming up, and I've got to get Communications, Science, Tactical and Helm/Navigation redone. We're also looking for a fill-in at communications as Stephanie Burke has a meeting she must attend out of town. Interested parties should contact us as soon as possible. Everything's coming along nicely, and we're looking forward to releasing the episode and followup vignette very soon!
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film Today we shot the next to the last group of scenes for Dave Eversole's "The Night the Stars Fell from the Sky." The shoot went very well! We've posted a number of pics to our Facebook group and our Photobucket album. http://www.facebook.com/groups/projectpotemkin/ http://s1112.photobucket.com/albums/k485/Project_Potemkin/Bridge Shoot - November 19th 2011/ "Doctor's Orders" is ready for release, and "The Void" will be soon!
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film This in from Composer/Sound Engineer Steve Gallant regarding "The Void," our first full-length episode: We're definitely going to be releasing this episode soon.
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film Wednesday evening will mark the end of the first unit filming for "The Night the Stars Fell from the Sky" as Jeffrey Green will film one last ready room scene for the episode. Once complete, the episode will be considered wrapped and will head straight into post-production.
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film It's a WRAP. This evening at the ready room set at Fast Copy, Jeffrey Green filmed the last scene needed for "The Night the Stars Fell from the Sky." We'll be sending it to post-production soon. Congrats to all involved with this production.
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film Ullisses Galazzo has now posted Portuguese subtitles to all our productions, including the earlier vignettes: "The Old Guys" can be found at: http://vimeo.com/34187872 "Care for a Lift?" can be found at: http://vimeo.com/34188161 We're very grateful to Ullisses for the hard work he put into this project!
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film A few updates: VFX work/sound/music remains for "Delivery" (S01-D), but the episode is fairly close to completion. Rick Foxx has undertaken the editing for "The Night the Stars Fell from the Sky." He reports a good bit of progress already. Lastly, "Assigned Duties," the first vignette of the second season of Project: Potemkin will begin filming January 13th & 14th at our bridge set in Albany, Georgia. This is a really solid episode written by David Eversole which introduces our new navigator. Stay tuned for more details!
Re: New Star Trek Fan Film Test footage from an upcoming episode can now be viewed on our FaceBook group page: http://www.facebook.com/video/video...4864755532468&saved#!/groups/projectpotemkin/
This weekend, the cast and crew of Project: Potemkin will assemble for our first vignette of our second season: "Assigned Duties," written by David Eversole. This production features: Jeffrey Green as Captain Grigory Sara MacKenzie as Yeoman Yanari Doug Harper as Helmsman Delaney Bill MacKenzie as Tactical Officer Richard Thornton as Security Chief Frazier Chris Coleman as Engineering Officer Kimberly Landers as Navigator This vignette, S02-A, will be directed by Bill MacKenzie. Photos will be posted after the shoot, some time this weekend.
That's one of our camera operators (and a Vulcan healer) for "The Night the Stars Fell from the Sky." She's making her first appearance as a regular character in this weekend's vignette shoot, "Assigned Duties" as Yeoman Yanari.
