I'll be honest. A little part of me took sadistic pleasure in knowing that seeing this thread bumped would get people's hopes up only to have them dashed to hell.
Anybody a glutton for punishment? Actually, I just found this thread an wanted to add my praise for it's contents... That's a hell of a lotta work and quite impressive too boot!
Okay, I guess I've left you guys hanging about as long as I dare to. Here's one tiny bit of progress: Note that this is a paintover of the 3D model to refine the gridline patterns and other details before I resume actual modeling. There will be more to show soon.
Damn... Nice! I wish the hell STO had hired you as a consultant to do their starships. I just noticed your "SOON" comment... Have you been sneaking around in the STO forums??? <chuckle>
Oh look! There are new posts in the Grandeur thread! Naaah ... I'm not gonna click it, Vektor's too busy with other things for an update. It's probably just some joker trying to tease me into getting my hopes up. Maybe there's something interesting in the Doctor Who forum ...
^We already said that. She might even be sexier than the Sovvie, and I give very few ship classes that complement.
This is an absolute stunner, Vektor. The Grandeur has become my third favorite Trek ship behind the original Constitution and the Galaxy-class. Well Done!
The large sections of black somewhat diminish the elegance of the design. It still looks good, obviously, but it loses a good bit of the 'majesty' the ship otherwise represents to me.
Agreed, but I've never been a big fan of the Eavesian/Sovereign paint scheme. The cleaner the better.
Hmm.. TMP E's aztec pattern might look great on her as well, however this is a ship from a later era so I can imagine why they choose this colour design.
