I never would have caught Katie Holmes if not for this thread. My attention isn't keen enough to catch a split-second background cameo. And this whole Jason Segel things is interesting. Did he really shoot all of his scenes beforehand, or is he shooting them on the east coast where he's doing a movie?
You do remember that they shot 9 years worth of clips with the kids during the first year? (Do they have any left except for the final scene? I haven't seen any this year yet.) This is how they do things.
To be fair, they've just repeating the same clips over and over again. I believe there's one where the kids are sitting listening attentively. And there's another where they go "What?!" which was featured in the episode where the gang smokes. Most likely not.
They only filmed scenes with the kids in Season 1/2. And they filmed the scenes they needed for the final episode at that time.

I was really disappointed after last weeks episode, but this weeks episode was hilarious! And yes, it was nice to see Marshall back for more then just a few seconds here and there.
