Thanks guys! I've got one more in the pipeline, and then it may be a bit before I do any more ships. I have computer problems that are keeping me from working on them. I'll try to post the last one I have currently soon.
Ok, got my technical issues sorted (at least for now), and I'm back with some more: Resolute-class escort Clydesdale-class deep space tug Pilotfish-class tug and lastly, the USS Avenger after being refit to testbed the proposed changes to the Miranda class in the 2270s
Wow, I gotta say, the Clydesdale....really lives up to the name Great work on all of them though. Maybe the Pilotfish (& Avenger) should have it's nacelles angled outward (or moved outward) to provide more room for whatever it's "tugging".
Well, that's different! I don't think I've ever seen anyone turn a cylindrical feature any direction except axially along the direction of travel.
Glad you liked the Clydesdale. I thought it fit...it's big and brawny and powerful. The Pilotfish doesn't hard dock with anyone, it's a "tractor" tug, hence the two small aft facing dishes (tractor beam emitters). Being a relatively small and "weak" tug, it would take probably two or three to tow really bulky vessels, hence the name "Pilotfish" (as in the little fish that frequently run with sharks). The Avenger isn't a tug at all. Thanks for the comments nontheless!
Well, I was looking to do "different" with that one, so it looks like I succeeded. Structurally I justify it as being stronger across the "y" axis than some other designs, and the compact nature overall lends structural strength where it counts (around the nacelles and the tractor beam emitter).
I'd be honored if he did. If he's "listening", the ones I'd most like see realized would be either the Andromeda or the Resolute.
I think you should rename the Cydesdale to "USS Saint Bernard." Looks like it's carrying a big brandy barrel.
That's true, but I got the impression that was a pretty good-sized ship. The Pilotfish is a little ship with small, relatively low-power engines. It normally tows small freighters, scouts, etc. For something as big as a starship, it would take more than one. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
The SFB battleship uses a carrier type secondary hull. You might try a dreadnaught with a container type secondary hull and two warp nacelles on the dreadnaught saucer...
Yeah, it uses a "thru-deck" style. The SFB carrier is a whole 'nother animal . Both cool looking ships.
