I thought that happened post Origins, though now that I think of it that would make Gambit far too old.

Well yeah, remember that whole war montage at the beginning--also known as the only cool bit in that movie? IIRC it went: American Revolution > American Civil War > WWI trenches > WWII Normandy landings > Vietnam.

Of course that raises a whole bunch of other questions, like how does someone in Operation Overlord end up as a POW on Japanese soil? Wasn't he and his half-brother supposedly inseparable during this period? And my personal favourite: isn't Wolverine supposed to be Canadian? ;)

I thought that teaser trailer served to tease quite well. I know Singer said they were still working on the f/x sequences, hence no Sentinels but I was throughly impressed with the dramatic beats we were given. The story looks to have the heart and depth it should have to appeal to all audiences. Not just the flash, bang popcorn action summer crowd. Which I enjoy at times also but this looks to have a healthy mix.

^That does raise questions. I guess Wolverine can't remember his past... until the plot needs him to?

    Swiss cheese memory!

(Well, if it worked for another mind-time-traveling hero...)

D Day was June 1944, the bombs were dropped in August 1945.

The trailer is ok and I'm not as bowled over by it as some seem to be.

Yeah, I know. I was just curious how a guy in the 29th infantry ends up half a world away from his outfit. I mean wasn't most of the ground war in the Pacific theatre done by the US Marines?

Yeah, I'm no expert, but I get the impression that there wasn't a lot of theater-switching going on in that war.

Wolverine appears in 187 comics a month. Being in two different theaters of war is nothing.

Operation Overlord was when James started to notice Victor was really going off the deep end, right? Maybe at some point after D-Day he decided to get away from Victor for a while, and a year later he wound up a prisoner in Nagasaki just in time for the bombing.

When you're in the military in a time of war, you don't just decide to go somewhere else for a while.

It would take some explaining if he were to take some clearly fatal wounds and not die. He might have had to fake his death and then gone back and re-enlisted.

There is two scenes of Rogue in that trailer. One of her contemplating, and one of her being carried by Iceman behind Magneto. Is she wearing one of her comic costumes?

Edit: Sweet, that was my Commodore post.

Logan/Howlett doesn't really strike me as the type of guy to care about rules and regulations.

    Or what Venardhi suggested.

Would it help if it had the right music?

He might care about desertion in a time of war. No wonder he wound up in Canada....

Now if he weren't just some grunt, but was supposed to be on assignment as a wartime special agent, then I might buy it in a superhero universe.

Nevermind, the second scene of her looks like a prison outfit. The first looks like her standard yellow and green neck high tights.
