Sombrero Hats on avatar's am i missing something? Feel like i should be slapping one on Scotty but have no idea what the hell it is about
It's a peculiar little meme that started in the original Star Trek XI forum. There were suggestions that the new Enterprise should be wearing a sombrero, and it kind of exploded from there. Sadly, no sombreros made it into the final film.
The sombreros should NEVER be ignored!!! Just browse the Blue Warp Nacelles thread and you will be enlightened!
*swat* upside the head. Follow the link BJ gave you. Set aside a couple of hours (seriously) and start at the beginning of the BWN thread. You will laugh until you cry. And then you'll beg for a sombrero.
"One man...One desire...One sombrero..." Arnold Schwarzenegger explodes onto the screen! "Listen to me! Dese are my sombreroahs and I'm not going to give dem up heah!" as...Little Sombrero Guy! Also starring Captain Robau and Yeoman Randi...they BOTH want your dawggies!
^^ That's it!!!!!! And you know....judging by the way you've described YOUR voice.......you could be the next VOICE!
^I've got a deep voice that belies my scrawny, sickly schoolgirl like frame. I'm game. Plus my dad was a DJ on Long Island in the 70s, so it's in the genes. One man...in a world...who isn't afraid to put his foot in your ass. Bring the kiddies along this summer to see Mr. Durp, the sombrero wearing dog walker who meets the love of his life at the mutt mitt station. Is it puppy love, or is he just looking for something to hump? Coming May 15th to a theater near you! And keep your hands off Rupert, dammit!
Two thoughts when I saw the thread title: 1.) People are still asking about this? and 2.) Somewhere, Locutus is crying.
In a world where a man was judged by his sombrero . . . one man dared to go hatless. Clint Eastwood IS . . . "The Man With No Hat." Strictly speaking, sombrero is simply the Spanish word for hat, denoting no particular style. The oversized Mexican-style straw hat with a broad, upturned brim is properly called a . . . er . . . uh . . . a Mexican hat.
Ah, good times! I remember animating the Sombreroprise like it was a year, ten months and six days ago. And I'm still proud we even made the headlines. Well, TrekMovie.com headlines, that is.
Back when I first joined in on <voice tone="booming" epic=yes> The Blue Warp Nacelles Experience </voice> I spent 8 hours reading through the entire thread. And that was a little less than a year ago. It's grown even more since then.
