ok i'm a noob so i guess it's mandatory i post here. joined at Messianni's urging - i was at the Experience quite a bit last weekend during the convention (unfortunately couldn't afford the con itself), i live in faaaaaabulous Las Vegas etc. etc.

dig a lot of Sci Fi, generally Star Trek, Star Wars and Doctor Who, lots of video games and books and stuff like that, and sometimes i scribble on paper and other people call it art.

and, why not, have a photo of me, from the Experience last weekend (8/9-8/10):

Don't worry, if DS9 is any guide, you'll magically become bumpy headed by the time you're older... :D

Hello all ;) ...wow, seems like no one has joined in a while...? Ah well, I'm posting here anyway.

I've been looking for a good gathering place of Star Trek fans for a while now. This seems like the best place for that :D It's hard to find other fans, really, not a lot of people my age are into Star Trek, haha.

Any advice for a newbie to this forum?

I've been too lazy, so many new posters to welcome since I was last in here!

Anyway, WELCOME Robert Simmons (1.03 posts per day? -surely you can do better than that!), floyd (are you still with us?), the_andorian (See ya' 'round, if not here then maybe on ReNext…), Thrawn, tauzo, DaniQ (have you disappeared too?), DATA476, iatro (Nice to see someone kling on to their Klingon!), explodingmuffin (Advice-wise: get yourself a sombrero…), think ("Frak" (the F word) is a SciFi-phrase and you may indeed use it here!).

"Why must we force others to welcome us?" the F word is Force not Frak; what do you think I am a starwalking frakin Mr. 6 or something?

thanks for the welcome - indeed.,

Ah, right, my bad, so many F-words - so little time…

But you did get the important part: welcome -that's all that matters! :)

May the frak be with you!

What's wrong with being 16 and liking Star Trek? The franchise really needs younger fans to keep it alive. (Isn't that the point of the new movie?)

**Peers on in** Hello, I just joined up.

I grew up on Star Trek and remember watching reruns of The Original Series when I was a little kid. I like a lot of sci-fi shows including Quantum Leap. I'm such a geek. ;)

I enjoy artwork, drawing, sewing, and many other things. I'm kind of a jack of all trades but master of none.

I am planning out some of my own Star Trek costumes that I hope to be able to make soon. It's been a long time since I last made one and have learned quite a bit so I'm really excited about being able to make one again.

As for what I look like, here's me. The pic was taken by my Mom and I edited it in Photoshop to make it look like a period photograph.

I was out in the back yard when Mom took this picture. I edited out the background and added in the table cloth.

    Welcome!

    Nice outfit... ;)

Wish I could sew; I'd love to be able to do my own minor alterations on shirts, trousers, etc. The most I can manage is sewing buttons back on (I do make the effort to shank them properly though).
