I've never seen Dr Who, so I can't comment. But Star Trek does try to take itself seriously most of the time and be original. Taking a cheap knockoff of an existing villain just to artificially force a villain into a given situation is pretty much the height of uncreativty and unoriginality.
All the space nazi eps I can think of were chock full of campiness. The most serious one was Patterns of Force and even that had the shirtless whipping scenes. I firmly believe they would have stuffed Hitler in a closet if they could have in Trek. But why it shouldn't it have some fun as well? Okay maybe not everyone is laughing at this: Or enjoying the utter campiness of this fellow (who as I have said before is straight out of The Desert Peach): Or thinking this was all rather slashy before I knew what the word slashy meant: But I am And since this is the ENT forum.. Archer is in big troubles here. Beaten up again and leered at, poor fellow. And tell me you don't laugh at this. Really. The desk, the VENETIANS!! And this one is like some Greeting Card from Hell I bet when you open up the Greeting Card from Hell there's a photo of a Doberman with a Christmas wreath round its neck.
And why do DS9 and TNG top my favorite list regarding Trek? Well it's a part of not having space nazi's.
I'm thinking the Bold and the Beautiful now.. And you know the ridges featured in James Swallow's Terok Nor. Bajoran girls were giggling over this in the pre-Occupation days when the Cardies were masquerading as tourists.
The scene in Carbon Creek when the kid's mom finds the money in the jar had so many levels of depth. That one stands out to me.
I'm not sure how many 'memorable scenes' ENT as a series has (though the ship getting f***d in Damage is pretty good). But Twilight and Carbon Creek definitely memorable episodes, with lots of good scenes/screengrabs
"Twilight" and "E(squared)" are the other two ENT episodes I have (Alternate Realities Fan Collective). I too thought Lorian was well cast. His resemblence to Trip and his voice almost had me thinking the actors were related.
