Thanks to all of you who voted for me! And now, for the new challenge: Every great officer, captain, commander, admiral, or even villain, has the moment that defined them and made them into who we know them as. The moment could be good, an accomplishment that set them up above the rest, or a tragedy that put them on a dark path. Whatever the case may be, in under 5,000 words, any character, any era, any universe, tell us what really made them who they are. Entries are due by midnight (Central/Chicago time) on March 31st. Enjoy!
This one I want to answer. Baby is wiping me out-but this has been growing in my mind for a while. Someone asked, in my first Seleya posting, how the captain of a science vessel got a Challenger-class. Hmmm....
This gives me the perfect opportunity to write Astar's story better than I did once before, but I'll have to see if I have time to write it.
Though I'm not entirely certain I'll have the time to finish this in time...I thik I'll give this one a go! I've never done a fanfic contest before. I will say, for this one, I'll set the stage for a brief deviation from my "Ezri Dax Tales". Sorry...but the character's not her. Also...I must say, you could say this tale's inspired by Nerys's "A Stone's Throw Away." Or at least, the "traumatic memory" narration style was inspired by her tale. Wish me luck!
Pfft. Seriously, you ALMOST had it last time around, with your Choose Your Own Adventure. Don't undersell yourself!
I wouldn't say I'm underselling myself exactly. But I will say that, at least in my opinion, the quality of your writing is leaps, bounds, and the 400 meter dash ahead of my own. I think I've said before, but I'd almost swear you were a professional writer.
Well, if I ever do publish, it won't be Trek, because I don't like what Pocket Books has done. But I don't have any publishing credits to my name. I just don't want to see anyone getting discouraged...I really don't like that, because I really do think a lot of people don't give themselves enough credit with writing, art, and so forth.
Well, as I said last month (atleast i think it was last month) if one person enjoys what I have written, then I am satisfied that I have done a good job. Not that I won't try to improve of course. Grammar is still an evil little creature taunting me from the shadows for example.
