Yeah, the poster would have been much better if they had just left that out. It's a pointless distraction that completely breaks up the atmosphere of the shot. Somehow I doubt his car is going to be a central focus of the film anyway.
Yeah the Camaro looks out of place. But look at the height of "Arnold" there, his shoulder width, the size of his head, how the neck attaches to the torso. It looks.. odd. Like Arnold's head was poorly Photoshopped onto someone else's body. Oh, for all we know it's a wacky sidekick car that always making snarky comments about the goings on.
I've seen a lot of 'shops in my time, but I can't tell from the pixels. They possibly made him slouch less or slimmed him up a bit. I don't know. He looks like he has his normal proportions to me.
No, it's not a big deal, I just found it slightly amusing is all. I don't think that they would need to explain his accent - giving him a Teutonic sounding name would suffice. But he doesn't strike me as an Owens! It just adds to my general sense that Arnie himself is a bit distracting in a movie like this. Like I say, had they gone with someone like Neeson, Willis or even Sly, they'd have been more convincing as an ordinary sheriff caught up in extraordinary circumstances. But it looks like they're going for an OTT feel to this movie, rather than a slightly more plausible Die Hard/ Hostage vibe.
It could also be the collar of his jacket. It looks like it's much higher around the back of his neck than in the picture of him in that suit.
Just saw the trailer before The Expendables 2 and it looks even more unimpressive on the big screen. The first thought that came to mind was the Rock's terrible remake of Walking Tall, right down to Johnny Knoxville being the dufus Deputy sidekick. This particular scene stuck out as very odd to me, almost as if this is the first time someone is picking up a gun and shooting it, like they are afraid of it or something, i don't know what it was.
The problem is Arnie, God bless 'im and the many hours of joy his films have brought me, just doesn't have the emotive range to do "World Weary." The trailer just feels like a film written with Willis or Eastwood in mind (or, the above mentioned Neeson).
Could he possibly have a bigger handgun in that poster? It looks fun to me, if it's reasonably entertaining I'd be happy to have another go with the Scwarz. I grew up with the guy so I have a soft spot.
My problem with the poster is his arms and the gun. His arms are too short as hands come down to mid-thigh on almost any person. The gun looks like it was pasted onto his hand. He is not holding it.
Any Arnie movie is a good Arnie movie. I'm sure I'll enjoy this one. His expressions always crack me up.
I love his glare at the dinner table in True Lies. Maybe I'm not normal but my hands come to about the same spot.
I feel like Arnold has always been sort of strangely proportioned. I seem to recall watching one of the 'Terminator' films recently and commenting that his torso seemed too short for his body.
Yeah, it becomes apparent now that he doesn't have huge muscles anymore. And his shoulders are sacking and I believe since a ski accident he walks a bit weirdly, so he looks pretty old in some shots.
At some point in the past, he won the Guinness record for being the most perfectly proportioned man. The word always in your sentence doesn't work.
