I am. I thought the first movie was a great action flick and I'm looking forward to the second flick.

I'm glad that Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris are onboard. They failed to pull together a real dream cast in the first one. It's still a problem, but at least they have Van Damme and Norris, along with what looks to be a slightly larger role for Arnie.

I'm boycotting if there's no Michael Dudikoff and Jeff Speakman.

Steven Segal, Cynthia Rothrock, Billy Blanks and Don The Dragon Wilson would have also been a nice touch too, but I am totally in.

Same here - the first one was great.

I do think they should have gone the female of the species route for the sequel though- teaming, say, Sigourney Weaver, Linda Hamilton, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Yeoh...

I'm certainly interested. Especially if Willis and Schwarzenegger get expanded roles.

Directed by Simon West (Con Air, Tomb Raider, The General's Daughter, The Mechanic)

Wesley Snipes should be getting out of prison in time to film The Expendables 3.

Throwing in some women would have been a nice touch. It seems Stallone wants to keep this 100% male.

I know it's just supposed to be a popcorn action flick harkening back to the 80s... but why exactly was Lundgren's character accepted back into the group at the end of the movie. Didn't he try to kill Jet Li and Stallone?

Yeah, that was the one and only problem I had with it.

    Hell yeah i'm in!

The first one was pure gold in entertainment value.. shitty story, not so good acting but one hell of action.. basically the entire 80s and 90s distilled into a single movie!

I loved and nearly passed out when the guy opened up with his automatic shotgun to clear the passage.. i laughed so hard i nearly doubled over :guffaw::guffaw:

I also love how those old school action stars make fun of and celebrate themselves at the same time.. kudos to them for not taking themselves too serious! :techman:

His character had a problem with drugs. Now he doesn't. Simple. He was part of the team originally (see opening scene in Somalia).

I'm not sure about Simon West, not a fan of his Tomb Raider movie. But he did doa good job with Con Air.

I still haven't seen the first...keep meaning to though. From the bits and pieces I've read about the second it has potential to be better than the first so I'm interested. I was a fan of Brian Tyler's score for the movie! He just understands how to score an action flick.

This thread could use some pictures and for what its worth a link to a site dedicated to following the news on the film: theexpendablesmovie.net (not to unlike BatmanOnFilm)

Stallone should be directing this. Not thrilled with this other guy. Whatever, cast looks awesome. Some chicks might have been nice, but really, unless they're getting nekid or getting rescued, they don't need to be in this film. Weaver and Co. don't fit that bill, so they're out. Carpenter was in Playboy, she should have come to the door nekid to give her a purpose in the first one. This is 80s/90s action reborn, where men were men and women were objects to be fought over. Although, I suppose she was fought over, despite being clothed. Still, hard to go wrong with female nudity.
