What are some of Voyager's greatest contributions to Star Trek(Trek Universe). 1. Great crew of characters. 2. Species 8472 3. 7 Of 9(She really deserves her own kudos)
A starship landing on a planet sequence Viidians The EMH 7 of 9 B'Elanna Torres Some beautiful visuals in terms of starscapes.
7 of 9 7 of 9's catsuit pivoting warp engines lines like: "get this cheese to sickbay!". great opening sequence
Rachel Garrett, savior of the Federation, would like a word with you. Tryla Scott, Silva La Forge, and future-Beverly-Crusher also await. My answers: 1. 8472 2. Intrepid-class Starships 3. the EMH That's the top 3 anyway.
Not to mention the captain of the Saratoga an STIV (who looks a little like Silva La Forge) and Erica Benteen.
I'm a tech-head so I'll say: Intrepid-class Starship EMH Quantum Slipstream Drive Borg Transwarp Hub Think Tank Seven of Nine Prometheus-class Starship
I thought of Saratoga's captain and Phillipa Louvois ("Measure of a Man") as well, but wanted to keep it to three. Erica Benteen post-dates Janeway's IRL introduction, but she's excellent too. And of course Erika Hernandez. And of course there's the Romulan Commander ("Charvanek" in some sources), Sela, and Toreth, for some non-Fed examples. And in TrekLit, wellll... we'll start with Kira Nerys and Ezri Dax.
Think Tank One The Void The Voth (Finally an elder race) The Phage Caretaker Plasma Based Life Forms France Seska Insane Computer System
-Intrepid class starships (small but powerful, and quite the looker) -Higher top speeds -Captain Janeway -Seven
THE DOCTOR. in capital letters because no one tops him. seven. janeway. the warmth and heart which i missed in th other franchises.
1. Kes 2. The other main characters 3. The premise for the show 4. Seska and Culluh 5. Henry Starling
In my opinion, Voyager's greatest (?!) contribution was in poorly written stories that took Star Trek far enough off the rails that no more really good Trek could be made without a semi-reboot of the franchise. Which resulted in the excellent movie earlier this year. So, um, right on, Voyager! Yeah.... I did kinda like the Voth, Species 8472 (before the writers immediately turned around and neutered them), the concept of the EMH, and the design of the Delta Flyer.
seven, the doctor and cookin that makes me appreciate rice and sausage gruel. oh and female coffee-addict captain
Ha! Not sure I would say greatest, but I can't in good conscience completely disagree. As for what I do think VOY's greatest contributions are: -the doctor. Picardo was a god among men in that cast. -Uh...I'm sure there are others. I WOULD say a female captain TV show lead, but she was kind of a pretty bad character ultimately. She could be a delusional loony, an idiot, a brilliant leader, a badass, etc....depending what writer was onboard and what the script required. Every episode was a damned roulette. Will Janeway be crazy? Stupid? Cool? Place your bets!
I was inspired by the Equinox and her Captain Ransom. And of course the show has some great characters and actors.
