Hey everybody got bored this weekend and I wanted a piece to play around in V-Ray with. SO she is still a WIP, and I just started texturing her. But a ship needs a name, or she wouldn't be such a fine lady .

So that's where I need you guys to come in, please suggest some names and I'll pick the best one. and if you have tips to improve the design, go nuts!

SO without further ado lets get this show on the road!!

loving this, would not Change a thing, would like to know how you or everyone actually does these wonderful ship creations, anyway i think a classy name for a classy ship would be the USS Guienavere.

Interesting design, for some reason when I look at her the name "Soujourner" comes to mind. No idea why.

    ^Sorry, taken.;)

Interesting design, though not a fan of the nacelles. They look like a couple of electric razers.

Thanks for the input, I guess I was thinking of shaving and Into Darkness simultaneously when I was modeling though, any thoughts on how to change them?

On that note though, here's a quicky.

I think the main thing about the nacelles is the front end of them. they look too much like intakes and are too angular compared to some of the curved lines used in the rest of the ship. The rest of the nacelles look John Eaves inspired. Very similar to these. Which might also be a good direction to go in for the front ends.

I've always thought that something called the Bussard Collectors should have some sort of intake on them, so your approach to the nacelles doesn't bother me at all. I like this design. I see influences from several eras and incarnations of Trek in it. I'm going to suggest a name based on an old design of mine...the U.S.S. Horatio. I based that name on an old quote from Roddenberry when he was describing Trek TOS...a sort of "Horatio Hornblower of the stars". :-) Looking forward to you fleshing this out further.

Interesting design, I wasn't sure about the nacelles at first.

So I decided on cleaning up the nacelles a bit, wanted to add some curve but not sacrifice the current design, so here's some more WIP's, and I'll get those bad boys textured sooner or later.

Did some work on the secondary hull, deflector dish, and the neck.

Since the design reminds me a bit of the Spruce Goose, how about the name Hughes or Hercules (the designation of Hughes' prototype was the Hughes H-4 Hercules.)?

Wow this thing is really starting to mesh (pun not intended). I'm actually more reminded of a mix between an Akira and Decatur, myself. I am REALLY liking this design the more I see of it. It has the elegance of traditional Starfleet design and the look of strength that the Vengeance had without being boxy and overpowering.
