Nah, we had electricity... but whatever I was using, its main function was to serve as a 3278 terminal emulator. (So it may as well have been a Tandy powered by a hamster, by today's standards...)
Ah the days of dial-up. However did we manage? But back to tying down the definitions. Newb=Anyone who hasn't been here as long as you. Old Timer=Anyone who has been here longer than you.
I used to post several times a day, but not really anymore. I got board with the BBS and found it to be too crowded a place to really have any meaningful discussions.
How about making one of the definitions something like "You have been a former staff member longer than you were a staff member"?
That makes me feel a little better. I still remember when I was a newbie, but I am also proud to see a few I welcomed here reaching Rear Admiral, too.
^If it helps, you are still a newbie to some of us. (12.25yrs or so for me). Were does the time goto?
I've got it. If you were around when Enterpriser was pulling his antics, you're a Grade-A Platinum Old Timer. Seems like a pretty good and reliable metric.
