Yeah I saw this earlier. :( He's been one of my favourite authors since my teens, and even though I haven't always enjoyed his more recent stuff as much, I still looked forward to a new novel coming out.

Damn. I read The Rats under the bedclothes in my early teens - it scared the crap out of me. I then picked up his first six or seven novels when they came out.

I loved Survivor. I saw the trailer to The Sixth Sense and didn't bother watching it. ;)

I've recently been reading some of his later books. He really was the best at that stuff...RIP James.

I think when I finish what I'm currently reading it might be appropriate to re-read a few old JH's :techman:

Very sad. Made me think of my late father who read all his books

Didn't you read it last year?

No, I was waiting for the paperback. I did reread Crickley Hall though, before the TV version aired.

So the paperback of Ash is now sat on the table next to me

I'd be interested in hearing what you think of it after you've read it...

It may be a while... I did love Haunted and Ghosts Of Sleath

Haunted is great, a twist I didn't see coming and when it did genuinely creeped me out!

Ghosts of Sleath I remember not being able to get into, but I've only read it once and that was years ago so it may be time for a return visit :)
