Netflix has TOS in HD, but so far TNG, the seasons that have come out on Blu-ray, are still SD. Has there been any word on when this might change?

I would imagine it's not going to happen until at least all seven seasons have been released and sales have tapped off. Probably not until they get all the income they are from each season and the 7 season set that will inevitably follow them.

^I figured similarly. I don't think we'll see it replaced with the HD until late 2014 at the earliest.

I think it has more to do with when Netflix last re-upped their contract with CBS. It was only earlier this year that Hulu (need Hulu+ for full access to the series and to unlock HD resolution) started carrying the Trek series, so they have TNG Season 1 and 2 in remastered form. Annoyingly, they don't say so anywhere, you just have to start playing an episode and notice the better colors and details.
