Indeed. They still haven't fixed things I issued tickets for months ago. And those are minor issues compared to, say, not being able to log on. Do they have a phone number to call?

Back in the days of Cryptic's first MMO, City of Heroes, it was the publisher NCSoft and not game dev Cryptic who handled customer service. I have no idea if this is the case now, but it is very likely that PWE is the company handling customer service for STO.

They do not have a phone number. They used to, but if you call that number now, a receptionist will politely direct you to the live chat or the ticket system.

That is exactly the case; PWE took over the support last year.

I played the Khitomer Accord Ground Elite STF under the new rules...

It is by no means as bad as everyone was thinking.

The respawn timer isn't much of an issue when people rez you (which they should do anyway since it takes longer to run all the way back...)
And the Optional timer is enough to complete it. Played it twice, completed it twice (one time with 1 second left on the clock, how very Galaxy Quest of us).
It's pretty much like Infected and Cure now... a random noob group won't make it, but a group that knows what it's doing shouldn't have much of a problem.

Regardless of what you say, the naysayers will still go "DOoooooooooOOOOooMMmmmm!"

Meanwhile, developers at Cryptic will be slowly but surely plodding away (or typing and clicking away) as they work hard to bring more content and bug fixes to STO.

The problem with the STF timer isn't that it makes Elite STFs impossible, it doesn't.
Well, I don't know about Ground, I don't do Ground.

The problem is that it's a pretty lopsided way to get people to play their roles... if that's what was meant to do.
It was never going to work, and indeed it hasn't: Cruisers stll don't tank, Science Vessels for the most part still don't support, save for a few attempts at crowd control with varying degress of success.

I still get singled out by every single Tac cube/Gateway/Donatra I engage and in most cases, they eventually make my fragile Escort blow up either by attrition or the rare one-shot while the USS Rainbow Odyssey stands idly

The other problem is that, quite frankly, they should be focused on one thing and one thing alone at this point: more Endgame content.
Not missions that'll be done once at most, not fluff like non-combat pets, not unnecessary adjustments to existing content, not lotteries; just endgame content.
A 2-year MMO with so little to do at endgame is way below industry standard.
It's a shame, space combat in STO is pretty fun, but apart from PvP and a meager 3 short missions, there's very little to do at endgame... which is made even worse by the speed of the levelling.

I just got an ignorant question. I keep getting those data cards. Or whatever they are. I click on them, and it says something about it being used, but I can't tell what the Hell even happened. What do those little guys even do?

If you received these datacards from Commander Viala in Starfleet Academy, they fill in the "history" of the star trek timeline from the TNG/DS9/VOY era to the current era. Each datacard also grants you an accolade when you right click the datacard and "Use" them.

And once how have all of them you should only have to scroll through them to answer the lore question for the dilithium in the other lore quest.

I don't know if I'm reading too much into this, but in a recent interview with executive producer Daniel Stahl had this to say:

Is he implying that we will be able to use the shipyard in our fleet bases to unlock and build new types of starships?

That's what it sounds like to me. Just imagine the amount of materials you'll need to collect to build a ship! Yikes!

Not to mention who will get to actually fly it;) Maybe it will be done as a fleet wide unlock or something like that.
I think we need to build our starbase first, though..

I got myself a kitty karrier today and I must say she seems way overpowered compared to all other federation science vessels I have commanded. Basically, with the use of the right fighters I can now lock down any ship and destroy it. Sometimes, without even having to get in range to fire a single shot.

Advanced Catian Stalker Fighters - I'm not 100% sure of its other abilities, but two of its star ability to detect cloaked ship and disable their cloak. Even Donatra's ship in CSE could not escape from these fighters.

Advanced Peregrine Fighter - These fighters cause massive amounts of damage. Two wings of these fighters have roughly the combined firepower of an escort.

Advanced Danube Runabout - The tractor beams and chroniton torpedos on these runabouts can easily hold anything in place.

Advanced Delta Flyer - The tachyon beam II and transphasic torpedos make short work of any heavily shielded ships such as the Borg tactical cube.

Reinforced Shield Repair Unit - I have not had the chance to use these babies, but I presume they repair shield damage?

Type 10 Shuttles - No idea yet, they should tank well with polarize hull.

The fact that the word "variants" was used probably means only visuals... still, nice.
Especially on the KDF side, there's usually little opportunity to mix-match a good-looking ship.

Edit: I've got a Very Rare Phaser Relay Mk XII and I can't sell it due to the EC cap, if anyone is willing to trade it for a Very Rare Mag Regulator Mk XII, contact me.

Anyone still having this UI bug when flying your starship? The one where it seems that your skill tray is floating off from where it usually is, and the default skill hotkey setup is ghosted behind it? I know how to get it back to normal, but it resets nearly every time I respawn or go from one map to another.

Yes! It's been driving me batty. Seems to be happening since the last bout of downtime. Having to take a few seconds to rearrange the HUD is frustrating when you just want to start buffing yourself to start shooting.

Just press escape twice. The devs know about this but feel it isn't critical enough to warrant an emergency patch. So I guess we'll just have to live with it until the next cumulative patch day.

That fixes that too? Awesome, much easier that what I was doing atm. At least it doesn't affect ground combat, and for most part, I can generally remember the keyboard binds for my powers, but still, it's confusing sometimes.

Yeah, the double escape thing is a life saver! Thanks!
