Man, still can't really make out that belt area. There's clearly something there, but hard to know what.

It's possible some of the costume will be CGI. Like I stated a few pages ago this is a film shoot suit which hasn't been completely been touched up and stuff like the suit we saw from the studio release. I suspect that it will look much cleaner and refined when we see an actual picture of it again or in a trailer.

Specific lighting, color correction - there's a lot that goes into how everything finally appears.

If all of what can be seen is Cavill's actual physique, he's the most muscular guy ever to play this part. Okay, possible exception of Cain; Cavill looks to have more definition here.

Why is pretty silly when you think about it. The more muscular Superman is, the more ridicious it is that none of the people around Clark Kent have noticed that he is Superman. Reminds me of that segement on SNL with the Rock as Clark Kent!:rommie:

Likely it's supposed to be "billowing" there or otherwise would have been a hindrance to production so it's not there and will be added in post via CGI.

Interesting picture but I still think there needs to be "something" there in that vast field of blue to give the costume a more dynamic look. And Supe's blue area disturbs me. :(

    It's always been that way.

As for "where's the cape" I'd guess that's the part of the costume they're least likely to just leave him wearing when there's much time between set-ups. It's going to get in his way doing just about anything - assuming that he can sit in that outfit.

It's also possible they were shooting a fight scene and he lost it. Clark loses his cape in fights all the time in the comics.

The more I see of the suit, the more I absolutely love it.

Hmm...that "ribbed area" on his back and side is...interesting.

I still like the "Earth 2" S design. This costume looks very much like the new Jim Lee version of Superman. I think that this will translate more to real world action than the traditional red and blue design.

Opposite. Now with the details revealed I think it looks fucking stupid. There's no reason his suit should look like rubber and the detailing looks like shit. They couldn't leave well enough alone.

Fucking morons. First JJ's stupid looking Trek film and now Supes ls starting to look like shit.

    Me too! :techman:

There are many more practical, real-word applications for rubber gear than there are spandex.

So, yeah. From the ornamentation, I'm getting the vibe that this is going to be specifically something that Kryptonians would have worn? So, going one step beyond Ma Kent sewing something together from the blankets in his space capsule, and being an article of wear actually from Krypton?
