http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Trek:_The_New_Voyages From memory, I recall the one where Kirk et al, switch places with their corrosponding actors to be fun, and the last story "Mind Sifter" was nice. As well as the introductions from the actors.
Yeah, the story where the actors and characters exchange places was really good. But you should try to read the second anthology since there is a story in there where everyone switches sex (and this is not like Turnabout Intruder), so you get to see Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Sulu and all the other males as women, and Uhura and Chapel as men.
Y'know I had just about forgotten that gender-swap story.***shiver** 70's fanzine trash at it's trashiest.
Despite some duds, there were definitely a few good stories in NV I and NV II. "Mind Sifter" was definitely one of them.
Ooh, yeah, I think "Intersection Point" is what my phobia of other realities pushing into ours can be traced back to.
Yup. I can still actually remember some of the passages about "The collision alarm', and the fog at the point of collision.
I snapped up NEW VOYAGES 1 the month it came out in 1976 and thought it was sensational. And Volume 2 was pretty good as well. I don't know how well they'd stand up to my tastes nowadays, but I suspect they're still pretty good.
