The Delta Flyer is my favorite for mission play. You can complete the mission with the basic shuttle, but not as easily.

Google this shuttle chart from Spidermitch:

The veteran shuttle shown off in that article looks nice too.

Your Let's Play videos inspired me to get into Star Trek Online. I've only been playing for a couple weeks but I am addicted to it. I'm already at Rear Admiral level 49 with my Fed character "Tulak", a Vulcan tactical officer. I have a sovereign class ship, the USS Star Quest, equipped with Reman covariant shields, 2 forward beam arrays, 2 forward photon torpedoes, 2 rear beam arrays and 2 rear transphasic torpedoes. I also have a bunch of consoles that increase damage resistance and weapons. I absolutely adore my ship! It is really tough and delivers quite a punch. I like cruisers but can't wait to try escorts next. Thanks for getting me hooked on STO! :)

How can there be a season nine before a season eight?! Or is the "big release at the end of the year" not a proper season?

Eh, whatever. As long as they have new ships, and missions on occasion, I'll be happy.

They can't decide if LoR counts as season eight or not.

Dan Stahl was calling it Season 8 in one of the recent podcasts, so maybe they're just going with it for now.

I just made further upgrades to my sci's Recluse and it has reached an amazing 11k dps!

    Crazy idea:

    T5 Oberth!

How can we make it viable, while remaining flavorful - ie, not a warship? I don't know a whole lot about what's good balance as far as hit points and stuff goes - everything is eggshells for me - but I thought of some possible stuff:

    BOFFS: 1xCOM-unv, 2xCOM-sci, 1xLTC-eng, 1xLT-eng, 1xENS-tac 1xENS-unv
    Weapons: 2xfront, 1xrear
    Consoles: 5xSci, 4xEng, 1xTac
    3xDevices

What else? What boff powers would you put in? What doffs? Other stats?

After a couple more tweaks my Recluse is now doing 12.5k dps, the equivalent of two good Elite STF-capable escorts. I have a friend whose Recluse doing 15k dps, Given that I have pretty much maxed out just about everything I can think of, I don't have any idea how he is out-damaging me. The only two pieces of gear I can upgrade is to get an Elite Fleet Warp Core, which no one has access to, or a 200 Lobi Tachyokinetic Converter Console.

What are you measuring? Total damage dealt during a match or duel damage against a single target.
I read the typical parser adds all AoE damage together so 2k dpa against 5 targets would read as 10k.

Don't forget the Phasing Cloaking Device! (see USS Pegasus) Would that be a device or console...

The Oberth is more or less a scientific scout vessel, so BOFF powers should play on that theme. IMHO, it would never be a T5 ship. Perhaps as T2 refit or T3 at most. It's just hard for me to see it outperforming a Nebula class. :-)

I don't PvP, so I measure total damage in ISE. Which is usually 4+ million for me. So yes, its often against multiple targets.

I thought so. Might be interesting to benchmark it against a single target and then habe the same fight against a typical escort to see the actual difference.
