If you were planning on trade-waiting for Uncanny Avengers, I'd recommend against it unless you want to pay more than the individual issues will cost.

Except that Amazon's 34% off isn't the best you can find, only the biggest name. Probably why they used them as an example.

InStockTrades will have it for 40% off minimum.
CheapGraphicNovels has been doing 50% off for first week release since summer, we'll see how long that continues.

    I'll wait, don't feel it's a bad hedge bet.

i think comics should be released as slides.

Imagine if your comics were 15 feet by 8 foot on your living room wall?

Is that the only way they're doing to the trade? I thought those kind of hardcovers were usually a special edition type thing that came out after the cheaper paperback trade.

    Depends.

For Marvel's AAA books, which Uncanny Avengers would be, the hardcover comes a month or two after the final issue in the collection, with the trade paperback coming about six months after that.

For non-AAA books, they skip the hardcover stage and go straight to trade on a similar schedule.

Marvel's also reprints older material in hardcover, but that's a bit random.

I see. That's not quite as bad then. I was thinking it would be pretty shitty if that was the only way to get the collected version.

I just finished reading FF#21 and I think one of the things I'm going to miss most about Jonathan Hickman is how he has written the kids, particular Val Richards. She has stepped into spotlight and become a fan favourite character during his run. He has been able to balance her sheer genius with being a child perfectly, and the developing friendship with Bently has been great to read. The Moloids were hilarious in this issue as well. One of the great marks of a writer to me, is to make us care about characters we normally wouldn't...and Hickman does this in spades. I only hope that Fraction will do the same thing.

I'm pretty sure Uncanny Avengers comes out next week, not today. I did not see it on the solicits list. The end of Avengers Vs X-Men was timed to coincide with the start of Marvel Now which kicks off next week.

You've seen a solicits list? I've become dependant upon CBR and Newsarama posting Marvel previews but they didn't release any this week. Other than a few that I keep a close eye on, I have zero idea what comes out today.

I just go to www.midtowncomics.com every Thursday...usually they're updated by 5pm est Wed for the following week's stuff. Marvel's website also has stated Oct 10 for Uncanny Avengers.

I go straight to the company that distributes the material, diamondcomics.com, then select new releases. You then can either choose a PDF or Text format to view the list of releases for the day.

Well, AvX 12 was just downright awful. Uncanny X-Men was great, on the other hand. The tie-ins have been much better that the main book since about #5 or so... and I did read EVREYTHING related to the event. I enjoyed it overall, but really didn't like the way they handled the conclusion.

The best part of this week's ASM? High Fructose Corn Syrup, and Huge Metal Killing Machine.
