I always get a middle eastern vibe from that version, at least in the beginning.

 

Yeah I think I read there is sitar in it. Really adds to the intensity.

 

My first thought was sitar, but it didn't sound "clean" enough to be one (to me).

But yeah, still a great way to arrange the song for the situation, as odd as the choice was.
