Happy shortest/longest day everyone!

Thought it was damn bright this morning. Dawn started sometime around 4am, and gonna be bright till around 11pm tonight.

It's all downhill from here though...

 

Winter is now upon us.

 

I'm just happy the days will start getting longer again.

 

And that's the long and the short of it.

 

Sweet! Let the countdown to summer begin.

 

Here's to the solstice....(having a drink now).

 

The short & dark days are easily most tiresome part of winter, so it's nice to note that we're now on the upswing.

 

^ Amen! I need more sun, desperately!

 

I went tanning for 10 minutes yesterday just to pretend it was summer again.

 

Funny coincidence. That's just about as long as our summer lasted this year...

 

Ouch! If I only had about that much summer, that amount of time would pretty much match the amount of time my sanity would last.

 

I'm glad the days are going to start getting longer. I've been so tired lately. I think I'm solar powered!

 

Should I be all Vulcan like and point out the shortest day is when the clocks go forward and the longest when they go back.

I know of course you mean daylight hours.

 

I commemorated today by correcting someone over the use of the word "equinox." I feel better already.

Although to be fair, today just flew by.

I hate that it will start getting lighter earlier, and I hate summer.

 

I kind of forgot that it was the longest day today. Doesn't seem that warm here at the moment, but it's been a much cooler December soon far.

 

First day of "winter" and it rained.

 

How is that different from any other day?
