I don't think we can accuse Dave Mack of being the Angel of Death anymore...

There are no words to describe how I feel about this. September 2 can not come fast enough. I've read most of the current comics-the DC's and Malibu's and Marvel's and Wildstorm's. But it's going to be SWEET having everything in one place to pop into my laptop whenever I want.

    I am SUCH a nerd...

Did Kirk just call Rand HONEY???

Why... I always knew about their romantic attraction to each other, but still.... Talk about OUTTA CHARACTER!

We just saw Spock angrily blow up an entire ecosystem, and you're complaining about Kirk calling Rand "honey"?

So apparently the people writing this had never seen Trek either. I would have thought they would have at least been able to find a writer(s) who know what is and isn't right for Trek.

The panels reproduced in this thread are from an issue that was published in October 1967 (June according to some sources), and presumably written several months earlier. At the time, Star Trek hadn't been around long enough for people to have as clear a sense of what was "right for Trek" as we have today. Or to care much; at the time, ST was just another TV show, one of the numerous '60s TV series Gold Key published tie-ins for.

Oh, ok. I didn't realize that those things were that old, I figued that they were from at least 70s or somewhere around that time.

:bolian:I see now. Thanks for the info. I'm thinking I might have to check these out when I get my hands on the DVD, mostly just out of morbid curiosity.

Well... yeah, that was goofy too. But someone else already commented on it. Just thought I'd bring up something else that was funny.

I mean, ya gotta admit --"Steady... HONEY."

    SPOCK: "That hideous little globe..."

    And a planet called Kelly?

What's next? An asteroid called... REGIS?

A planet called Kelly Green. As in green with vegetation.

There's a Sherman's World and a Wrigley's Pleasure Planet. I suppose a planet named Kelly isn't too much of a stretch from there.

    Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

    ^Oh... That Kelly Green.

What's next, then? A planet called tangerine?

Orange, with tons of tiny craters, and a green star-shaped north pole?

    And a mantle of... juice...?

You know, I've always thought it was pretty impressive that Wrigley's Chewing Gum is actually still around in the 23rd Century.:guffaw:

That's why the pleasure planet was "double the fun".
