It would also be inconsistent with the characters as established so far.

At this point, I see no reason to think or even suppose that Coulson lied about what he experienced while he was dead. Also, I'm with those who think that the scene with the firefighter is a great scene. I think it's among the best individual scenes of the series so far.

Amen. Diaz needed a note of peace of heart to go out with, and Coulson was able to make an informed attempt to provide it.

This scene's going to stick with me awhile.

It also gives me hope that this show may become more than strange case of the week.. that was solid and unconventional writing for TV and i hope to see more of it.

I'm finally caught up with the show. I think the first couple of episodes were a bit bland, so it took me ages to catch up again. I've really enjoyed the last two episodes, however, so I think I'm in for the season.

That scene with Coulsen and the fireman was very effective, as were his discussions regarding what happened to him after New York.

A friend still on dial up asked for it.

It's probably no worse than the first season of Charmed.

Just because it is set in a gay strip club?

I wish Charmed had been more graphic. Alyssa Milano, rowr!

Like that we're getting more of Fitz and Simmons...I think Ward and Skye work a lot better playing off of them than hogging the spotlight together.

Yeah, getting more Fitzsimmons is nice. And I'm finding myself liking, crushing on, the female half more and more than Skye as of late.

    - Great intro with the quick escape, a wisecrack by Coulson and heading off on a high tech thingamajig. Kind of reminds you of... something.

    - Fitzsimmons is still Fitzsimmons even when you split it in half. Simmons having a fit over Fitz going into danger really paid off and made for a good story.

    - That sandwich sounded good. I even took note of what was in it so I could make one. Prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella and a hint of pesto aioli. Damn you Ward for throwing it out. But then again Fitz shouldn't have taken it out. When he did, I thought the worst that would happen was that he'd have to share.

    - Coulson definitely sounds programmed.

    - The bus hovers.

Nah. Too much "good-looking-ness" when they're together.

As am I. This was the first episode where she really took my attention away from Skye. Elizabeth Henstridge is very attractive and I noticed that they made her even more so by letting her hair down because of the focus on her this week. And she plays the smart yet awkward lab geek who looks out for her guy very well. Then there's the British accent. She's a darling.

I think that's fair. Plus, it makes everyone seem more of a team (rather than essentially a group of pairs).

I didn't think this episode was as good as last week, but I think I'm growing to like the characters much more, so it made the episode enjoyable anyway. Plus, I really do like what they're doing with the theme of SHIELD's moral ambiguity. This episode easily could have been called "trust the system." It makes sense. Afterall, SHIELD wasn't entirely trusted in any of the movies either.

It seemed that Victoria Hand thought something like this would happen? Or, alternatively, at least thought it was a possibility. Strikes me as a bit contrived, but I'm not really going to complain about that.

The two character mysteries are starting to come a bit more into focus. The fact that there are two no longer makes it "what happened to Coulson." Instead, it fits into that theme of the ambiguity of SHIELD. Using Coulson's own words, what happened to Coulson is a secret for a reason. The fact that he isn't being told about it is important. Trust the system.

Anyone notice that Coulson caught himself saying "It's a magical place"? I think even he's getting suspicious of it....

More and more I get the Kaylee vibe from her.

It's a SHIELD vehicle. Of course it does. ;)
