If we are all a little more like Guy, the world would be a much more exciting place.

I hope this show does not renew for a new season.

What if the next series was set in 2030?

Give Almost Human a run for it's stupid money.

What if it's about Ted's Daughter finding her husband? How awesome would it be for a "How I Met Your Son-in-Law" series, where the daughter has Ted sit for years and years to tell him how she met the love of her life.

Maybe this "How I Met Your Father" stuff is just a smokescreen for the ultimate revenge!

What you are describing is "How I met your Son-in-Law" which is a very unwieldy title.

They'd have to set the series twenty-odd years in the future then. They're not gonna do science fiction :p

HIMYM is set in the year 2030, so is it sci-fi already? ;)

Slapsgiving 3... I thought it was one of the best episodes they've done. Looking at the IMDb boards though, a lot of people seem to hate it.

I was actually disappointed with the episode a little... do we know why Marshall was slapping him? The joke is always that Barney does something really horrible and gets his comeuppance. I also had a small issue with the entire episode being completely fictional rather than an exaggerated story. And Barney didn't get get knocked to the ground by it :p

It was an awesome story, taking Marshall to the far east to learn slapping from the masters. I loved how over-the-top it was. It was legen... wait for it... dary!

I don't remember exact details, but Barney lost a bet or something that Marshall gets 5 slaps. Lily was the judge. He's taken three before tonight (i didn't see it yet).

I only remember the details because I've actually seen most of the related episodes recently. Barney and Marshall made the original slap bet way back in "Slap Bet" regarding the mystery of Robin's aversion to malls. At the end of the episode Marshall was granted five slaps on Barney at his discretion. He used up four of them and then was granted three extra slaps in Season 7 in exchange for Barney being allowed to take off the ducky tie he'd been forced to wear after losing another bet. Marshall used two of his remaining four right away, leaving him with two more, one of which he finally used in this episode. That leaves one final slap, which I'm sure they'll get to by season's end.

As to why Marshall was slapping Barney this time, at the end of the last episode he apologized to Barney for missing the rehearsal dinner and said he got Barney a gift to make up for it. Barney, being Barney, obnoxiously demanded Marshall give it to him immediately, thus incurring the slap.

One of the things I'll miss most about this show is its surprisingly tight continuity (for a sitcom). Although both Barney and Marshall referred to this latest slap as the fourth one when it was actually the seventh, so maybe it's not so tight after all. :p

The montage during the Boyz II Men song showed all of the slaps.

I really thought that the "lack of accuracy" was going to lead to Marshall's wedding gift to Barney being that he slaps himself instead of Barney, but I guess they can still save that for the final slap.
