    Federation or KDF?

I heard there were some issues/bugs on KDF side with completing the mission.
It worked fine on my character, the one time I did it so far.

I had the same bug as a KDF player last night; only 4 areas, not the 5 needed to complete the mission.

Same here.. after wandering around for a bit, I eventually beamed up and dropped the mission.

If you were KDF, that's why. The KDF side is very bugged.

Whereas the Fed side is just boring and not worth the effort. Nice graphics, and attempt to reuse the suits, but for how much they cry about not having art resources, people to program, whatever, seems like a lot went into something that really wasn't worth the effort...

I don't know about the art side but I'm a software developer who's tried to create my own game in the past. From what I have seen in game, I can tell that they're either seriously lacking in software devs or their software devs are being tied up elsewhere.

If you noticed, the dilithium mining game was largely the anomaly frequency scanning game with a different set of graphics and slightly different code. The rest of the event can be cobbled together with existing components. In fact, I can bet good money that the time it took to plan and coordinate the creation of this dilithium mining event probably took longer than the actual coding time.

Yep, KDF. I didn't want to be the one to say it's bugged. You might start thinking I'm the harbinger of doom.

But it doesn't matter. I've already lost interest in the mining mini-game. How about a mini-game using a ship's interior. Something like calibrating weapons, sensors or engines.

Actually I hope that you are right. I would hate to think that they spent serious development time on the mini-game.

Heard an interview today with the new ship designer, apparently his current task is to create 8 to 10 new ship models over the next few months.

Hopefully one of them will be the Ambassador class, and it better be available as a T3.5/T5 ship.

Somehow I doubt it... Al Rivera is totally against the Ambassador. The only argument of his for the ship is to complete the Enterprise lineage. But so far he can't bring himself to let it in game, and then he won't make it anything higher then T3.

But a new series of endgame ships will be interesting and add a much needed variety to sector space which is totally dominated by the Odyssey atm.
I fully expect every single one of these ships to come as bundles similar to the Odyssey.

I also hope we get T5 refits of some much asked for fan favorites like the Sovereign and Akira.

In other news, Cryptic has introduced some bug fixes and changes with teh latest Tribble patch.

-Certain STF bosses have been stripped of their 1 shot kills by reducing their base damage and removal of crit ability.
-Theta Vent Radiation debuffs no longer stack if you get cought in the theta cloud.
-Also Hazard Emitter continues to clear debuffs for the duration of the power instead of just at initial activation. (This is an indirect much needed nerf to warp plasma).
-Shield Distribution Officers have been reduced in effectiveness slightly

The most controversial change concerns the shield capacity generator. Since it now stacks for some time they reduced it's effectiveness considerably. It adds only 18% capacity but can still be stacked.

The Akira was designed to be a gunship/battlecruiser/aircraft carrier. I'd like to see a T5 refit. Especially with the ability to carry fighters.

From the hints that were given in the interview...
    - At least 2 ship models will be refits.
    - One ship model *might* somehow be related to Star Trek: First Contact.
    - One ship model will likely be a non-Starfleet carrier from a "Federation member race".
    - Apparently he has not been given the green light to start modeling the Vesta.
    - Chances of seeing the Ambassador will be very low. (based on his forum posts)

I would be happy seeing either Sovereign or Akira refit.

I'd like to see the Caitian Carrier but is it a Sci ship?

If Cryptic is releasing 10 or so new ships, it doesn't make sense to exclude the Ambassador.

New ships are always welcome to the game, IMHO:)
I just hope we also get some new bridges to the game sometime in the future..not to mention more content.
There is certainly lots of material to draw ideas from.

The mining event/mission..I do not think its that bad at all, beats the academy event certainly. Though it seems the amounts of ore you get are rather small. I did it about twice with one of my toons, so far.

I'd say an Akira refit would be most welcome, especially if it's a choice between that and a Sovereign refit, the escort selection seems a tad light at the moment in comparison to science vessels and cruisers. Perhaps with a small carrier function like previously mentioned?

From the sounds of it, I might be one of the very few who actually enjoy the mining mission...:alienblush:

It depends on whether "new" actually means 25th century vessels, or just new to the game.
