"11001001" was one of the best season 1 episodes with interesting aliens and Picard and Riker almost acting like human beings for a change. Early holodeck episodes were also treated with a sense of wonder by the characters that almost makes you forget that it quickly became a tired and overused cliché.

 

Their naming conventions may be highly context-dependent. When only four are present, two bits suffice to index them all uniquely.
