I had a client meeting in southern New Jersey yesterday. So I decided to stop by Point Pleasant Beach. Here are a few pictures from where the Boardwalk use to be...

These are from a house around the corner from where I live, can't believe there are still trees against the house when the hurricane was over a month ago.

My oldest son Ian turned 4 today, I can't believe it. Time really does fly, I love him more then words can describe. How he has changed over the years...

I don't know how happy Eowyn is about having her hair cut. She does seem to have this "I swear by my pretty floral bonnet, I will END you" look on her face...

I was waiting in the drive-thru at Starbucks. And yes, my sunroof is open in the middle of December. Today is frickin' gorgeous.

I would love to try going 75 days without trimming my beard but I could never get away with it. Maybe I'll give it a try when I win the next Powerball.

I mean, really, for going that long, it has managed to maintain some semblance of neatness. At least I don't look like a hobo.

Oy. I can't go two *weeks* without trimming my beard. It itches like a sumbitch if I wait too long. I don't know how Brian Wilson and/or ZZ Top manages to let their beards grow that long.

Some cool props I got to see at the London convention.

Suliban cell ship and... a torpedo, I think?

Itching only happens in the beginning because your skin is doing something it's not used to. After a few weeks, your skin adjusts to its new "environment," and the itching goes away. I've had a beard for about 5 years now, and it never itches.

Honestly, let it get long enough, and you don't even feel your face at all anymore!

WOW Alienesse that is all incredible stuff!!!

Quick someone use Data's (apparently moldy) head as an avatar!

The Suliban cell ship!! An orb! Porthos's quarantine box!!

    !!!!!!!!

And really, I'm shocked this stuff still exists. I remember seeing horrible photos of them bulldozing the ENT set.

    Great shots, Alienesse!

And, yeah, Data's head does look a little creepy there.

    Thanks! Glad you like!

:( Oh, what a sad sight!

Yeah, I was quite surprised myself that they managed to bring all that stuff to London. It was truly surreal to see actual objects from the show. This was definitely one of the event's highlights. I've got more pics, I'll post them later when I get home from work. ;)

Yes, Shanndee, I had an awesome time! I didn't get to do EVERYTHING I wanted, but I would have needed some time-traveling skills to achieve that. The schedule was pretty crazy. Still, it was quite an experience.

My brother-in-law grew up in Point Pleasant. He was pretty sad about the damage there. :(

On Wednesday, I had to part with my dog, Lily, of whom I have posted many pictures here over the 11 years of my membership on the board. I won't go into the long list of health issues that had worsened precipitously the last two months, the sum of which were making her distressed, upset and in pain, but I agonized over the reality that putting her to sleep would be a release and mercy for her. It was so very hard. She was only two months shy of her 15th birthday, and had a long life, a good life.

I only bought a dog...but so many years later I lost a companion who knew how to cheer me up when I was down, who kept me active and on my toes, made me laugh constantly and gave affection from a seemingly endless supply. I'm going to miss her constant need to be in physical contact with me...she had a habit of sleeping on my toes when I was using the computer. I'll miss her "guarding" me when I was vulnerable while showering (I always figured she had seen Psycho). I'll miss her offering to share her treats with me. I guess that was my privilege as the alpha male.

This dog helped me survive a terrible marriage, and she was the only thing I cared to fight for in the divorce.

So in Lily's honor, here's some of my favorite pictures of her.
